Before it was pro streeted it looked stock, but with the colour scheme the opposite way round (cream with black writing). Can't remember what engine it was though.

The thing I love about the plumbers van and the xj220 transit is they look pritty standard, even if the plumbers van looks like it would end up in a hedge very quickly! Any more info on the XJ220 transit, I love the idea of that, although it doesn't sound cheap!

As far as I know, it was the test mule for the XJ220 running gear. They used to go Porsche-baiting in it around the M25 back in t'day...

Been thinking for ages about a standard astravan, keeping the diesel engine (but veggified) and everything the same, but putting a bolt in frame in the back (which bolts up to a cage in the frontand the rear suspension), on which sits a Rover V8 and gearbox, driving a transit rear axle.

Drive to trackday on veggie power, lock off front clutch (all clutches hydraulic with line lock), lock on rear clutch, start rear engine (with front running powering everything like brakes, lights, battery etc but just idling), hoon around track. Finish hooning, turn off rear engine, Lock off rear clutch, lock on front clutch, bumble back to pit area to a group of puzzled looking people :-)

And you could unbolt the rear frame (and gearbox) and slide it out to work on the engine :-)

Have to have some sort of fly by wire throttle for the engines, where each can be disconnected seperately.

no skills, and more importantly no money...I'm a dreamer, aint i :-)

old drag racers tip. run soft front coils and shocks to maximise weight transfer onto the rear tyres. tricks employed by "grumpy" jenkins and others around the very late sixties/early seventies. before the days of putting a tune in your four-link.....
