Got a thing for these at the minute - I don't know an awful lot about them but I really like 'em! The earlier ones are nice too. Was Humber part of the Rootes group? What happened to them? Who owns the Humber brand now?

Humber was a Rootes company, and they went down in the late 70s along with Hillman, by this time all their cars used Hillman platforms as well. They're probably owned by Puegeot now, since they took over the reigns of Rootes-Chrysler when Chrysler UK went down the pan.

What are the jengine options for one of these? Obviously there's the 1725 Holbay-spec engine...but surely that's not going to be thatquick in this day and age.... 'Spose it would have to be another Zetec application, no...?

A curse word photo of an old Street Machine (or Custom Car)... I'm sure this car used to live not far from me, it looked fantastic in the metal...

Yup! The Humber name is owned by PSA now, sadly. Warwick Wright, the Talbot garage in Chiswick, produced a limited edition Talbot Sunbeam Sceptre, complete with dodgy hubcaps, gold side stripes and a pop-up sunroof.

The Mk3 Sceptre was made from '67 to '76, and there was an estate version from Oct. '74, complete with built in roof rails...... they had the alloy head 1725 engine with twin carbs. My dad had a maroon auto with a black vinyl roof (NBC 421F) ......... ;D Much later a white one with a stoved - in front end appeared at our house..... I think someone gave it to him......

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.
