I cant believe myself how much stuff I'm giving away free at the moment,
I'm getting a new shell to save myself a bit of time restoring mine, people restore far worse but unless someone wants it I will weigh it in as scrap, It needs a new boot floor inner rear arches and a drivers footwell but otherwise it is relatively soundish, it is a round rear light model but it was made in march 1973 so it is just outside tax exemption.
I might be able to put some (non tii) suspension and wheels onto the shell for a smaall fee to aid removal.
It is the car pictured bellow in my signature

Thought 1974 was the cut off year for free tax?

Unfortunately not, the rolling 25 year tax exemption was stopped in 1998 budget so the cut off point is December 31st 1972, You are also allowed black/silver number plates and musical air horns if you car was made before then.
Its worth noting though that it is the date your car was made not registered, so if your car may have been made before that date its worth checking out as you can get it changed by the DVLA to be tax exempt.

On a tax related note, if you can prove your car was made before 1st Jan 1973, and you've paid tax since your car should have become exempt, you can claim it back We did with out 1972 built and 1973 UK registered Moggy. Was originally a Jersey reg.

I havent bought the new car but its in the pipeline and all going well I should have it in the next 2 weeks, there will be a whole set of standard front and rear suspension as well as a 1602 engine/gearbox 2 new wings and a few other parts available then.
