Hasn't been used for a few years, and needs to be gone within a month or it gets scrapped. Condition, year, colour etc unknown, but I think it's a saloon. At the very least, it will be a very cheap source of parts!
Located - Teddington, SW London
Basically, a mate of mine is an architect, and this car has been left on a site he has just bought (it belonged to the previous owner of the site) & he wants it out of the way. However, the previous owner has said something about wanting to keep the registration number. Not sure if / how much this complicates things, as it will need to be MOTed first for any transfer to take place....
Let me know if anyone is interested & I'll try to find out more - I only know what is written above. Also, serious inquires only please, as I know that my friend is very busy!

Hey Paul you must have space for a Minor!
|
|
it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

No space at all unfortunately I have enough problems storing just the Sprite......

Piccies here: www.photobox.co.uk/album/3807208Morris Minor 1000 4 door saloon, grey with oxblood / dark red interior. Believed to be a '58 Early type 1000, so originally 948cc (forgot to check the tab on the block to see if it still is...), clap hand wipers, semaphores, flush glovebox lids & bronze / gold speedo. Last MOTed '95 / '96 & been standing outside for about 10 years, but lots of history. Driven to current location. Bolt-on panels: front wings are shot & rears aren't much better. Bootlid skin has rot on the base, but the frame appears ok. Bonnet is ok. Doors look ok - a couple of blisters on the skins but underneath seems fine. Sills - not obviously frilly. Only hole I could find was in the kick panel on the front passenger door (non structural, bolt on panel anyway). Couldn't see the chassis legs or spring hangers as it's too low to the ground (4 flat tyres). Structure as visible under the bonnet looks good. Floor could be ok, but wirebrushing might prove otherwise. A, B & C posts seem ok from inside the door shuts - pics shown of C posts. Couldn't find any movement in the A posts. Inside the boot seems ok, except for the rear most part of boot floor icky next to boot catch, but valance / lower rear panel seems ok. Base of passenger side A post is icky from inside the front wheelarch (see pic), Engine - doesn't turn over on the handle, presumed siezed. Brakes are probably no better.... Interior - very nice. The seats & door trims are all in great condition (including top of rear seat) - couldn't see any faults except for some of the door pulls - see pics. Carpets could do with replacing though. Can't find signs of water leaks in either cabin or boot. Chrome - ok, but not perfect. All locks seem nicely tight & door catches etc seem fine. Any other areas - please ask & I'll see if I can remember! Overall, I'd say it's far too good to go to a scrapyard or be used for parts. Although it needs some welding, & a mechanical overhaul, it is very complete (one front sidelight appears to be the only thing missing) and the trim is great. IMHO assuming the paint can be T-cut back to a good shine, then a full respray shouldn't be necessary - just the new wings & touch ups on the doors & bootlid where required for repair. would take loads tro make it perfect (don't they all) but not much to make it a nice tidy example. In fact, I think it's a lovely little car with loads of potential & I'm very tempted to have it myself if I only I had space for it!

I can't believe someone's not snapped this up. A free Minor has to be worth having. Too far away from me and I have no space at all.

There are a few who are interested . Once I've managed to clarify the V5 / reg number situation, it will probably also be posted on the MMOC forum, so I'm sure it won't be scrapped.
