Anybody looking for a cheap, fine-handling DERVwagon?
It's a 94/L GLDT, which means PAS, electric front windows, central locking and electric sunroof.
MOT to 26.2.07, tax till the end of the month. Last year's MOT threw up two advisories - front tyres nearing legal limit and front pads wearing thin - both jobs have been done already...
177,000 miles with very little in the way of history, however it was owned by a local building company for the first 4 years and 120k miles who had their own mechanics! I have had this verified by a lady who lives up the road as it first belonged to her husband, then they bought it from the company. 4 previous owners in total.
However in the last few months it has had (with receipts):
As you can see from the picture, it's in exceptionally good nick - especially for the age and miles. Only rust is a little bit of surface in the engine bay, being a Pug it has the usual tiny dings here and there due to wafer-thin panels mind. The lacquer is peeling from the top of the offside front wing too.
Inside is nearly mint. Comes with a decent Sony stereo.
I've had it for 2 months and done 2,000 miles in it with no problems at 50mpg, it's only up for sale as I have no need for it anymore (it was bought to tide a friend over who is emigrating, but he hasn't got round to selling his MX-5 yet). Runs like a dream with none of this sooty curse word that VAG chuggas chuck out.
Bad points? Sometimes the starter solenoid sticks (common 405D fault), you just have to twist the key back and forth a couple of times but she always goes eventually. Also if it's not used for a couple of days it needs a bit of churning on the starter to go - the fuel appears to be draining back to the tank (no, it's not leaking out anywhere). As I say, always starts though and will not let you down.
Do I hear £350? That's what the cambelt, waterpump and brakes cost me so you're getting the car for free...
Can supply more pics if necessary - PM me.

- New clutch @ 162k (the receipt has gone missing...)
- Two new tyres on the front
