Okay, so it's a 1982 Transit long wheel base panel van. Mot'd for eight or maybe nine months, taxed until the end of October. I'm the third owner from new and I've had it two and a bit years. In that time I've converted it and Mot'd it twice. First year it needed front kingpins, and the second year a bit of welding. There are six new tyres, and the underside is very, very solid with only surface rust that needs a good waxoyl before winter. It's a 2ltr Pinto with just over 100K on the clock, four speed manual with overdrive (overdrive unit rebuilt 8K ago). The interior of the van was gutted, seam sealed then waxoyled from top to bottom before being accoustically and thermally insulated. There is a two bench, two table set-up which converts into a full size double bed, with shelving, basic sink and 240V hook-up. There are screw-in eyes in the roof for holding up a surfboard, so when you're on the road it won't get nicked. The back windows are blacked out with limo tint and reflective panels on the inside. There are twin roof vents, so it never gets stinky or damp inside, plus twin 'van shop' captains chairs, both with arm rests and fully rotating bases. The awning slides off for storage and there's screen shades, power cables etc that go with it. The only down side are the front wings which are dented, and one has a little rust (you can see from the pic it ain't too bad though) If anybody is interested I can send on some more pics... Looking for offers over 2K. It's in Somerset. Cheers...

Lovely, ripe for a retro motorsport service crew makeover I'd say.

Thanks guys, I've nearly sign written so many times. I really fancied the logo of an Italian lingerie firm down the side... proper early 80s.
I'm not that fussed with selling it, but if somebody wants it for the money then it'll go.

Says 'invalid item' for me? Guess they've pulled it because you said 'no swaps or px' (and actually meant it) or sommert. Boils my wee when they pull listings for minor technicalities when the whole place is riddled with fraudsters and scams.

Ahh, nice one Pog. I've listed it to start at seven forty five tonight, when I was previewing my last reply it was coming up as a working link. I'll check again, when it's live...

Sooper Luzzing out the extra 6p for a 'scheduled listing' is well worth it IMO

Too right. I've mailed a couple of people pictures after being asked and kind of got it into my head I'm actually going to sell the thing. But listing it is still a bit unplanned so I was drawing up the advert at about 3am this morning, not an ideal time for an auction to end, eh? Well, unless I want a night crawler to buy it...

Am I missing something here? - but I think it's stretching things a bit to call a Transit with some planks of wood screwed to the back a 'camper van'.

I can't see any planks of wood screwed to the back of it... And for your future reference should you ever need to correctly identify one... camp-er โnoun 1. a person who camps out for recreation, esp. in the wilderness. 2. a person who attends a summer camp or day camp. 3. Also called pickup camper, truck camper. a trucklike vehicle, van, or trailer that is fitted or suitable for recreational camping, or a pickup truck on which a structure fitted for camping is mounted. โverb (used without object) 4. to travel and live in a vehicular camper: We're going to camper for two weeks during our vacation.

Well done 'twinspark' for make yourself look clever. Again. Me an' the missus have just been looking at this thinking it would make a useful tool for show weekends and summer hols alike, even if it is somewhat spartan. A veritable bargain compared to a 'veedub'.

*shrugs*
A 'camper van', to me, would suggest it has things like sofas, a table, cooking and washing facilities of some sort.
That's just a ply lined van with a couple of benches and a shelving unit.
It doesn't even have windows in the 'camping' area.
I love the shape of a MkII Transit, but advertise it for what it is - a ply lined MkII with a couple of benches in the back.

Its a van with beds in, thats close enough to a camper van for me.
Pleased its sold so quick, I didnt think there would be any problems selling it.
Very cool vehicle and I am sure the next owner will appreciate it.
