Not mine, just passing this on....
I have an 1850 HL which has to go. I need the space for a new project and the chap that was going to take it away and Sprint it has blown me out.
Also I’m trying to spend more of my spare time on my 1300 FWD. I am also selling off all of my Dolly related parts that the FWD does not share.
I really want to get rid of the car as a job lot with hopefully most of the spares to make a half ways reasonable car.
Included in the sale are:-
1 Brooklands green 1850 HL with black painted roof.
1 Set of Spax lowered up rated suspension, currently on the car, the front struts are a bit old and tatty but don’t leak. The rear ones are new.
1 pair new front spax dampers to replace old tatty ones.
1 Pair solid steering rack mounts, currently on the car.
1 Jigsaw racing lower steering column coupling (new), currently on the car no more nasty rubber inserts to worry about.
1 Pazon electronic ignition unit, still retains the points but you can do away with the condenser.
2 New cover sills, one for each side, the n/s would need replacing for the MOT.
1 Set of good doors with good door cards and door pulls (Tahiti)
1 Bonnet to replace rust one (honeysuckle)
1 Alternator standard
2 Radiators, one 1850 and one sprint one, the 1850 core looks new.
1 Set ball joint gaiters.
1 Pair of new 1850 engine mounts, currently on the car.
5 sprint wheels, tyres ok but one has been flat for ages and the car has been standing on them for a year, lots of tread though. Personally I would replace them.
1 Lucas gold sports coil
1 Set 1850/TR7 Magnecor HT leads, seen very little mileage.
1 Set standard Sub frame mounts, includes nuts bolts and washers
1 Set standard flexi hoses, front and rear.
1 Tyre 175/75/13 to put on the 5th sprint rim as a spare.
The bad points are mainly the fact that it has no engine or gear box in the car, the gearbox was sold recently and the engine was taken out as it was knackered. I was going to replace it with a TR7 engine (also for sale) but as I said above I thought the rolling shell was going to a new home, this appears not to be the case.
Main points of note regarding the shell, body and interior are the headling has a couple of tears in it , sills, the n/s one is holed and will need replacing including the sill closure panel, the n/s chassis leg is pin holed above the suspension bracket, there is plenty of good sound metal to weld to though, there is also a hole where it meets the floor above where the rear most sub frame mount on the n/s, the boot floor could do with a few patches, the upper front panel is rusty in the usual places as are the leading edges of the front wings, n/s headlamp mounting panel is also pretty rust and has started to eat the bonnet mounting panel a little, there is no front bumper, lastly there is some rust below the windscreen where it meets the scuttle panel which has been sealed up with silicone to stop water getting in the car not ideal I know but it’s kept the interior dry.
On the plus side it has a new windscreen seal and trim fitted, the inner front panel and the front valance are in good shape with only minor rust, no holes, the interior is also pretty good, carpets are excellent and as said above the set of doors supplied have good door cards, the front parcel shelf is acceptable, the rear shelf could do with replacing though, the drivers seat has sagged a little and a small amount of piping has come away, the passenger seat is very good though as are the back seats apart from the usual sun damage to the top of the back rest that plagues the tan interiors.
I’m looking for £300 o.n.o. for all of the above, parts value alone must be worth that so someone will get a bargain.
Also included in the sale will be a box of odds and ends I have collected, not sure exactly what is in it but it`s all Dolly related.
Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions.
I will try to get photo`s over the weekend.
I am located 3 miles from Aldershot, hants.
