hate to be a post whore and stick something up for sale as my first post. Some people might know me from the ZXOC or the datsun owners club most wont though. Anyway...
I recently purchased a Nissan Silvia turbo that came up unxpectedly at to good a price, and with me looking to buy a house I thought this might be the last chance to change cars for a while so I took the leap. I'll be sad to see my bluebird go :cry: but we all have to move on.
500ono Daily driver anyone?
MOT till Dec 2007!
Tax May 07
Electric Windows
Power Steering
electric sunroof
electric heated mirrors
working electric suspension (Soft, Normal, Firm)
She is lightly modified but still cheap to insure even for younger drivers as some mods can be easily removed to save on preiums (mainly increased boost) and will come with
* 17" TSW imolas with locking wheel nuts, oh and tyres which are good alround with the fronts being new this year.
* Volvo front mount intercooler with silicone piping on 63mm alu tubes.
* Boost increased to 9-10PSI (although this can be put back anytime) which I sometime do for long journeys, although the right foot makes a good boost adjuster.
* Uprated front brakes, 4 pot from S13/R32? with drilled discs which are much much bigger than stock. Fronts also now have braided stainless steel brakes lines, I have a set of lines for the rear that I think will fit and will throw in.
* Stereo (not the big one I'm keeping that!) but is a kenwood tape with 6 disc changer. I will leave the new front speakers in as well.
* Box oh spares which includes standard front brakes with new disks and pads (don't ask bad timing on fitting the 4 pots left me with no choice grr) and 4 braided steel goodridge lines, spare wing mirror (drivers), spare switches, spare bulbs a plenty, haynes manual if required.
I also have a cone filter and adaptor, plus a section of AFM harness which would be ideal for moving the air intake to the oposite side of the engine nearer the turbo which I will throw in.
Lots of work done to her over the last three years by Marks Workshop including:
* Servicing - every 3000 miles(normally less) or 3-4 months. Oil and filter change everytime.
* Headgasket
* cambelt, power steering belt, etc
* water pump
* new radiator (sunny one to fit behind intercooler)
* CV boots
* Steering rack boots
* Drive shaft seals
* Clutch
* Sump gasket
* Rear disks and calipers
* Front brakes as above
* Rear anti roll bar bushes
* Front anti roll bar clamps
* Exhaust down pipe and centre section (rear is still good)
* Turbo gasket and exhuast manifold gasket - Genuine Nissan
* Idle up valve (ACC)
* AFM - undrilled! - emmisions are 0.82% so well under the 3.5% MOT limit
* Thermostat
Bad bits hey shes nearly 20 years old! and car years are like dog years
* heating element in the left hand mirror doesnt work minor but I thought I would mention it.
* rear springs are getting a bit soft, so if you put lots of people in the car the wheels hit the top of the arches, sounds worse than it is. But she will either need a new set of stock springs or some stiffer ones if you carry lots of people around all the time. Of course it could be the bump stops?
* Oil pressure reads low. I know, eek I hear you cry! The pressure sender unit and loom is know to be a common fault on these, and I havent managed to get her tested with a good old mechanical gauge. Its been reading low for over 18 months and there are no signs of any effects so the most likely and common thing is the pressure sender unit. There are no big end noises etc so I think that firmly points the finger at the sender unit.
* Drivers door is dented quite badly (see pic below) but still works, no leaks etc. I fixed this once when I got her as it wasnt that bad, then someone else picked on her :evil: so I have left it ever since. Might be able to push it out, but then a new door is apparently easy to fit although beyond me.
Erm some piccys (I will take some up to date ones shortly in th edaylight waiting for it to stop raining so I can clean her). You can browse all the pics here: s33.photobucket.com/albums/d74/WocketFast/Bluebird%20Turbo%20ZX/
Dyno graph about 6 months after the oil pressure started to read low, but before any mods
A few pics of the car, she would benifit from good polish/wax. There are plenty of ofther pics from over the years here s33.photobucket.com/albums/d74|http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d74/WocketFast/Bluebird%20Turbo%20ZX/
Upgraded brakes
Intercooler with piping. The intercooler itself is the width of the grill and run down to the front crossbar/skirt so its pretty huge.
The interior is still good, few scratches, and tiny hole in the drivers seat where the adjustable side support air bag has worn through.
You can see the dent in the door in this pic.
