I need a Golf 8v cylinder head to suit a 1.8 GU engine (Carb) DX is the same I believe, and I think a GTI Head will fit as well but I`ll need to plug the injector holes It needs to be complete and a GTI Cam would be nice to go with the Weber it allready runs. Need it in a hurry to rebuild and send out before the Syncro dies completely What have you got ? Where are you ? And how much do you want for it ;D

DX is an injection head. Injector holes can be plugged with gearbox filler plugs* EW and EX scirocco heads will also be suitable. I have that carb engine that you can have... come and just remove the head (and any other bits) you want. No other curse word wants it at the £20 I was offering it at. Don't know how much rebuilding you were planning - I rebuilt a similar mileage one and just ground valves and replaced stem seals... there was no significant play in the guides. NB If you are sending bits out, there is a rubber cam cover gasket from VW, much better than the cork ones - it comes complete with new studs that have to be fitted in the head. Only costs £7 or so.* A 'GTI' cam should only cost you a tenner (I can post up on couple of VW forums if you like?). Apparently a later digifant cam is the best, but I imagine it's pretty insignificant. *Apologies if you knew already

Time is the problem for me at the moment, closely followed by Logistics !!! I`m back in Essex at the weekends and Salisbury during the week at the moment.... There is a Scirrocco in the local Scrappys back home thinking about it..... I`ll have a look over there first at the weekend I think ?

It's likely I will be going to fleet services on the 14th if that's any help. Did you get my PM about Audi parts?

I think the 14th is going to be Too late TBH, I have a feeling I need to get something done this weekend I`ll keep you posted though Cheers Dom

Just remebered - if you use an injection head, there is a bit of messing with a manifold cooling channel... but not sure what I entailed. Although digifant(PB code) and I *think* DX heads have 40mm inlet valves instead of the carb head's 38mm.
Thanks re the Audi stuff.

Think that I`ve found a Complete Syncro Engine/Box/ Transfer box local to me in Essex ;D, but if thats true about the inlet valves then I might have to find a DX/PB head to nick them out of Looks like Jane has found a Garage to do the work and he thinks its oil pump /pickup gone.......again That is one car that properly needs a sump guard Hes doing it on Monday so we`ll see what the verdict is then Watch this space Cheers Dom

I think EKTA does actually list a sump guard for a Mk2 Golf... 1) Don't know if it would fit a syncro though 2) It is probably unobtainable anyway.

If you've still not got anything, I've got a complete NE code (carbed 1.8 8v) motor which I could whip the head off for you
