The "automotive life laundry" continues. It's a saloon, it's been off the road for about 3 years. Front calipers sticky, voltage regulator blown, clutch was slipping last time I drove it.
[vw scene mode on] Hey this car just oooozes "OG" paint and patina! Perfect Hoodride, but remember that that's an attitude not a style, etc etc etc blah blah [vw scene mode off]
It's never been painted, and there's a good coating of surface rust in various places. It'll need welding at the front ends of the sills and in a couple of other small places, but it's very saveable. I just haven't got the time or energy. The seat fabric is trashed but the carpets are ok and the headliner's quite nice. Doors are a little dented but very solid, bootlid is fine, glass is see through. I had some fun in this car.
How much? Very little, close to nowt. I'd rather it went to someone who's gonna do something with it than weigh it in, or not weigh it in and watch it get worse, but it's got to go asap as I need to get a skip in. It's in Denbighshire, North Wales.
Photos coming this afternoon.

Start at £50 and see what happens. I've seen them go for over £100 on ebay worse than this, but I can't be bothered with the hassle - I just want a pain free divorce from the poor thing.

I wouldn't tow it on a rope or anything, that'd be asking for trouble as it's not road legal - plus those front brakes need work (they lock up if you touch the pedal, though they free off ok with a good hammer blow to the wheelnuts). An A-frame would solve the brakes problem but still not good if you got caught by the fuzz. I know people with trailers and towbars but obviously that'd be extra £ (not extortionate but not for free, y'know...) It's about 60 miles from here to Menai Bridge.

OOF! That would make a fierce 'anti-hoodride', all the patina - none of the cliche. I was eyeing up a shabby estate one of these last week. Only the 400 miles between me and it stopped me, and is stopping me again now.

8-)For a 31 year old car it looks pretty good to me. Tatty but saveable.

If you need spare parts take a trip to Eastern Europe or Turkey/Northern Cyprus etc and you'll find quite a lot of these with a Dacia badge on them Should be rust free as well

"Hoodriddance", that's what I say. I might get a stencil made of that... Stil, at least that load of inverted snobs made me start building shiny cars again. No more rat for me, Vicar.
I used to work with a bloke who worked in a Dacia "dealership" in the '80s in the next town. Not a good word to say about the things. Mind you, he didn't have a good word to say about anything really.
Anyone want it then? I don't want to have to resort to ebay, or indeed parking it at the bottom of the garden next to the two R4s and the R8 that have been there for the last 10 years, rotting into the ground... believe me, those things will never turn a wheel again, and it'd be a shame for this one to join them.

I thought cars on A-frames therefore classed as trailers as they no longer required a driver to control them?

VIP - it's a very grey area. For a start, if the car and A frame total over 750kgs, it's unbraked so not even a Land Rover can legally pull it.

A mate of mine at uni had one of them, I borrowed it a few times. Kind of curse word but sheer hilarity to drive. Worth it for the looks from other road users alone.

After 15 minutes shoving the bloody thing around trying to make space to get something else into the garage, I feel I need to bump this thread. Any interest welcomed warmly, personal opinions less so.
