Right then guys, some of you may know of my Mini that I've had for aaaages. Well it's come to a standstill and I really need to money. So here it goes....
I got the car a few years back as a standard 998cc Racing Flame which had been re-sprayed black and put as a Checkmate on the log book.
I took it completely apart in search of rust to fix and found hardly anything at all! The subframes are great, sills are great, boot floor is great etc etc. The only holey bits are where the airvents are, but obviously this is a very easy repair.
There's been previous repairs to the floor which worried me when I first saw them, as they looked a bit ugly. However, the floor is solid.
I then decided to concetrate on the engine, as the shell was sweet.
I got hold of an MG1275 engine that was running badly, and completely rebuilt it to the following spec:
+.20 overbore (1293cc)
Brand new pistons and rings
Lightened and balanced crank by DKE
Race prepped connecting rods by Arrow Precision
SW5 camshaft
New cam followers
New valves, guides and springs
New Duplex timing kit
Skimmed, ported and polished cylinder head
Copper head gasket
Rebuilt gearbox with 3.7 ratio differential
New pumps + filters all round
Anodised rocker cover
New radiator + hoses
All new core plugs etc
Everything painted up nicely.
Maniflow 1.75" single box full system and LCB.
Suspension:
GAZ adjustable shortened shocks
Minisport Hi-Los
Adjustable tie-bars
Adjustable bottom arms
Adjustable camber brackets
All new poly bushes
Swivel hubs rebuilt
New driveshaft bearings
Brakes:
MG Metro Turbo 4 pot calipers, which are modified to use turned down discs, so you can fit 10" wheels over them.
I rebuilt the calipers with new pistons and seals, and have Goodridge braided hoses.
I've got some 10 x 6 Wellers which are painted Satin Black to go on also. + 2 Yoko tyres with great tread.
It's got MK2 rear lights (look much better in my opinion)
Oh and I've got a 'Red Hot' interior to put in (all black with red piping).
All in all, it's a pretty well specced car, and would be an absalute weapon when all together.
It's current situation is that I've put the engine in and connected it all up, and most of the front suspension componants are on. The rest is yet to be completed.
Included in the sale also:
Spare MG 1275 engine and gearbox.
Standard 998cc engine in peices
Spare front subframe in good condition
All the standard parts minus interior
Mountey S'wheel
Few other wee bits and peices.
I did previously secure a sale, but the buyer had trouble arranging transport so it fell through.
I kinda really need the money, so £1500 takes the LOT. Which, is a great deal when you look just at what a decent engine will cost you.
I'm based in Leicestershire, so collection from there will be required.
Irish buyers: You will need to be SURE you can arrange tranport QUICK, and I will require a deposit.
