A simply stunning Time Warp classic Mk3 Capri 2.0s in Strato Silver with only 62k genuine miles, regretably for sale due to another project.
This particular car was sold by Rugby Autocar Company Ltd, Ford Dealer, on the 18th March 1980.
The basic list price for a Capri at this time was £4300, however after ticking the option list, including Alloys, Metallic Paint (Strato Silver), Vinyl Roof, Chocolate Check Interior, Rust protection, Mudflaps and being a 2litre S the final purchase price was £5286.50.......surely there can't be to many cars for which the owner still has the original bill of sale.
She comes with her original 'Owners Wallet' with a Dealer service record, Owners Handbook, Capri Accessories, Ford Capri Operation Manual. On top of this are Previous MOT's and additional bills for servicing etc...a comprehensive record of ownership.
In my ownership the car has been serviced, received new brakes hoses and lines front to rear and a set of new front springs.
The pictures show that she really is in beautiful condition, the interior can only be described as MINT, she has her original radio with electric ariel and have you ever seen a boot floor like that in anything but a show car?!
The exterior condition is also testiment to it's owners care over the years. She is a non-sunroof model and so the structure remains amazingly sound, there are a couple of minor blemishes and on taking her for her most recent MOT, the technician commented on how the well she had been maintained.....'I have to remember to look for the usual rust spots on these, but there just isn't anything!'. She comes with 12months MOT, but is currently Sorn.
Mechanically the car is also very strong, the engine runs as sweet as a nut, gear changes are smooth, she has her correct period Rostyle Alloys with Goodyear tyres with 6mm+ tread and she drives without the usual rattle and 'clonk' of some older classics.
I Have no doubt that with some detailing she has the potential to be a cracking show car, or why not register her for an appearance in 'Life on Mars', or a remake of 'The Proffessionals'. She really deserves to go to a caring home.
She is offered for sale for £2450ono, the registration alone is valued at £1300. Feel free to contact me on 079833 76718
