I'm hoping I can find some other people who do this.... Get up, get dressed in some clean togs, then over breakfast my mind starts thinking about the project.... two minutes later and I'm in the garage for a quick recce of the situation... "I'll put me scruffs on in a bit" I says to myself. Then I think.... "I'll just take these bolts out... won't get messy...." Then before I know it I'm up to my elbows in muck and grease and it's all over my clean clothes! Ah, it's like being ten again. I must have one clean pair of overalls somewhere!

Yeah, I do that too, usually on my girlfriends mini. I took the wooden dashboard out once just to see how they're fitted ;D

I have a pair of overalls hanging in the garage and they stay there while my Levis get covered in curse word. Not good.

Talk about getting carried away with projects. I took my Imp off the road in November 2000 for an engine change. Now, over four years later, the car is seven years older (re-shelled) and a restored, full-blown sprint car. How'd that happen?? And my overalls are clean. About three pairs of jeans in various stages of decrepitude, including one pair covered in old underseal. Keep meaning to get rid of 'em. I'm ;D

yeah but you have to worry when you can look at an oilstain and know what part of what car it's from!
i'm just as bad... i bought some overalls (ex-Ford!) which have been used for decorating, once, yet when i go out to 'have a look at' the car i'm always either just about to go out, or have just come in from somewhere, and hence am dressed nicely.
i believe new clothes have a chemical in that makes them attract oil anyway, so it doesn't matter if you put your scruffs on - they'll come back clean. oil doesn't want to know.
