I get confused with wheel fitting, so heres a question for you clever bods. I'm going to put the standard BBS alloys back on my Polo, and was wondering if the Anteras I'm taking off will fit on an Astra Mk2. The PCD is the same but does that mean they will work or do I also have to look into the offset of the wheels etc. Sorry for being so thick ;D

Missus has a SEAT which is same fitment as 4 stud VW, which I'm 99% sure is same as Vauxhall & a few others aswell. The offset may not be exact , but is as near as dammit.

It's the centre bore you want to be careful about.

IIRC fwd Vauxhalls have a 50mm offset. (feel free to flame if I am talking curse word) I think its 48mm and on a mark2 astra you've gotta be spot on cos of the rear arches covering the wheel. Best bet is to just try em and see.

Although some jucious use of hammer / grinder on the arches will soon cure it! I did this on my old Mk2 Astra Estate so I could bang on some 15inch steels...

i remember this from my days of reading max power... (when VB-H used to write!)
Vauxhall is a +38 or +39 offset, but is designed to form part of the suspension geometry or summat which means if you deviate too far from this, your car will handle like mega-poo (even more than vauxhalls usually do). Also the squared-off arches will be a problem, but are easily rolled.
VW fitments are between +35 and +45, the +35 you should be fine but the +45 end will be pushing it, are there any marks on the Anteras to show what they are?

Cheers for all the replys Guys, mucho appreciated

I know its not really to do with this thread but the Transit Connect wears some fat 5-stud steels, saw one this morning. I like the big arches too.

Offset is usually stamped on the inside (back) of the spokes along with wheel width.
