The best modern-day MPV type vehicle IMO:  A modern day Renault 4 if ever there was one  When i was holiday i had one of those as a hire car and it wasn't to bad at all and highly practical. Hmmm wonder if you could go euro stylee on one of those.... |

Completely biased but this  is better than a kangoo! Had a look at a berlingo and kangoo before deciding on the doblo. I can fit more curse word in the back and the jtd engine is nice to drive. It fits in wife, kids and dog with room to spare and looks a bit like a hearse for fat midgets if you squint. |

Err...isn't that Doblo thingy officially the UK's slowest accelerating new car with a sprint to sixty taking about 22 seconds?? The problem of these van-based mini-mpv's is just that, they're based on vans. As such they have ZERO redeeming styling features or points of interests, an uncomfortable driving position and a range of engines solely devised for economy over refinement or speed. As they are based on Vans it also means that they are a bit top-heavy and will handle like a yacht in a force 9. Having endured a Berlingo for a year I will also attest that the build quality of these vehicles is absolutely atrocious.  I'd rather slam my nads in a door than drive or spend my hard-earned on a Berlingo/Partner/Kangoo/Doblo etc. |

The standard van diesel is the slowest to 60 (21secs) but the JTD version does it in 13 (105bhp). The driving position is good and has a range of adjustments. Like I said I tried a berlingo and didn't like it, the doblo is much better.
It is top heavy but it has to be tall as I put large things in it. I can't fit these in a small car. These types of vehicle have come along way since they first appeared and mine has air-con, nice trim, cd, alloys etc.
They are not sports cars but MPVs (ie multi-purpose) so they are a compromise.
