Doh!! Just driving home from a long night's work, and the next thing I know there's blue flashing lights in my rear view mirror. Queue the usual "do you know how fast you were going?" speech. I look sheepish as I was over the 30mph limit, so admitted I was probably a little over... I stood there picturing another 3 points and £60 more from my very empty pocket, but he let me off! Bonus!! Just up the road there's a speed camera. It illustrates the difference doesn't it? Roboplod would've just banged a fine on me regardless of whether I was drunk / mentally unstable / about to mow down a load of grannies crossing the road, whereas the actual human policeman stopped me from speeding, checked over my car for defects (and found none), and I drove safely (and legally!) home. More police like that and less yellow boxes! (I'm only saying that cos he let me off! ) PS: I think the fact that my car is mostly held together with gaffer tape drew attention to it!

day after Boxing day i got stopped. i was booting it through an area i got shot at last summer (30 limit) saw the cop behind me too late and watched him follow me then put the blues on, explained why i went a bit fast up that hill, got a 'fair enough, but either take it easy or use a different route in future'
TBH i 've never had grief with a copper, i know a couple, they're alright, i just hate these irrelevant cameras.

some of them are ok,i even met one with a sense of humour,he said if it was up to him i should have got a medal for speeding in a montego ,not a ticket.he wanted to let me off but i was over the 'threshold' doing 46 in a 30.luckily he didn't check any further as the car was a complete wreck,ex mini cab and it had been stolen and recovered SIX times, the door locks wrecked, the dash busted up,and the front suspension was shot.i sold it before its next mot was due.

The last time i got pulled by the fuzz was when he claimed that my car had no tax on it.Funny how i'd got it taxed about 5 days before and the disc was in its rightful place in the windscreen. He reckoned there must've been summert up with his computer. Bo**ocks! My car just happens to be over 10 years old and is bright orange thats why i got pulled over. Some of em just think all old cars are fit for the knackersyard and he was one of em.

My car just happens to be over 10 years old and is bright orange thats why i got pulled over. You should've said "is it cos I is orange?" in your bestest Ali G voice Guz - I take it the shooting incident happened somewhere like St Anns? I have to drive round there at night... no fun at all!!

shooting...guns...sh*t the last time i got stopped the copper was concerned that i was overloaded, because of the height of the back of my car.i explained that i had lowered it and that the front was going to be that low in the near future. he replied cool. .he then asked me to rub my rear number plate, cos he couldnt read it.i used a mcdonalds bag that was full of cold chips, to clean it.one of the screws ripped the bag and chips went everywhere. i looked him straight in the eye and asked if i was going to get done for littering.no he said they're chips the birds will get them.then let me on my way sans producer had some b*stards though. ;D

we have those ANPR checks... cameras pointing at oncoming traffic doing DVLA lookups as you drive past, 100 yards further on there's hoards of cops ready to pull you over if anything is suss. in my polo, for a giggle, i drove too close to the car in front so the cameras didn't get my reg. the cops stepped out to slow me down for a manual check! just wanted to see what happened about a month ago i was coming back from a night out, totally sober but the missus had had a skinful so mcd's was in order. trying to get home quick so it didn't go cold, 65 through a thirty and took the 'racing line' left at a mini-island - full width of the road both sides bear in mind it was 1am, and all around this junction is open grassland - absolutely nobody about to mow down. next thing blue lights behind me and this police mondeo comes screaming up behind me........ and overtakes!! i was crapping myself for 10 seconds, seemed like a lifetime

Mate had trouble when he had his bottom/centre on his cabriolet. Explained that it was because one had recently got ripped out by wind with the roof down & he had to fork out for duplicate & the aggro that goes with it, but made him move it over to the left!! Mine's in the right place...... but it's upside down ;D Been like it for about 3-4 years now ;D

Mine's in the right place...... but it's upside down ;D Been like it for about 3-4 years now ;D You've had the same tax disc for 3-4 years? ;D ..... I got pulled years ago in a MK3 Cortina, when they were still old bangers.... the plod told me, with a straight face, that they always stopped them, because they were used as getaway cars... it was a 1300, FFS! . At that time I worked at a garage, and used to take my toolbox home at weekends. When he asked me if knew what was in the boot, I took great pleasure in describing my Snap- On tool box in great detail....

... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

one of my mates was out driving in his totally standard 1.2 Punto at about 2am one morning. it was in a residential area and he had wound the car upto about 80-90 and came to a t-junction where you have to go left to go right (if you get me), but instead of slowing down he just went on the wrong side of the road. the police saw him and stopped him but all he got was a procedure!

I took great pleasure in describing my Snap- On tool box in great detail.... Years ago we were 4 up in my mates Mk3 Corty 2000 GXL (lovely). Got pulled over. The nice policeman goes through the routine then asks if we have anything in the boot. "No officer" replies my mate. We open the boot, four sets of Golf clubs..."er apart from four sets of golf clubs" doh! Also got stopped coming off the ferry in spain during the foot and mouth crisis. Spanish plod asks if we have any food or meat on us, "no officer", 5 seconds later I remembered that the roof box was FULL of meat and other stuff from Tesco's. "er apart from that" ooh my memory After a good solid career of overdoing it speed wise the only member of my family who has ever been tugged is my poor old mum who was stopped in her Renault 5 doing 60 in a 30 (yay mum!). The poor plod sees a nice old lady getting out of the car and says "It's Ok love, you can have a little cry if you want" ooh that went down well!!!

I was in my Squareback a few years back when I turned right at a mini roundabout a bit quick, as I was half way round I noticed a copper pulling out to follow, luckly another car got between me and the copper and at the next roundabout I took a left and left again up a dark road, lights off and watched the copper drive past ;D A quick three point turn later and I was heading back the way I'd come and the copper came flying round the corner straight past me. Needless to say I didn't stick around to find out how curse word they were The only problem was about a month later I got pulled over by a police van being driven by the same copper I denied everything and said that one of my mates must have been driving! but just to show willing I let them search the car and even offered to open the bonnet, the copper then said "No we don't need to see the engine" What a cock the engines in the back!! ;D

i had a 'moment' in my G40... hooning it down this country lane chasing a Civic, doing about 85 in a 60, obviously racing (erm i mean there was a tailwind officer). comes round a corner, there's a police car in a layby facing out onto the road on the opposite side - as soon as we pass he moves forward to pull out but there's cars coming towards us, stopping him. i brake for a moment then nail it, up and over the brow of a hill, the civic does the same. jammed the anchors on, turn right up a dirt track, just got round the corner when i saw him go past the end of it. kept going in case he turned around and it turned out to be the bumpiest worst-made track ever, front of the car keeps bouncing clear off the ground, dented the downpipe and everything. then drove very sensibly, the long way home
