after the moon thread.. well lets say its had some influence on me.. what cars are suitable for the salt flat racer style treatment. i figure beetles can pull off that look, and ive seen a volvo on cardomain that had moon discs and flat paintwork and had that sorta look, so anyone got any idea's? or photoshops or just general car pictures of saltflat racer styled "mobiles"

This one used to belong to Al Barnett: We couldn't afford to take it to Bonneville, so had to make do with Le Mans instead The driving position was, erm, relaxed!

Top work! ,.. did you speed it down the Mulsanne straight?? Nah, the Frenchies wouldn't let us. They kept jumping out in front of the car every few hundred yards, making hand signals for 'ze burn up'. ;D

The driving position was, erm, relaxed! It does actually look quite accomodating in there! I take it, it had Go-Kart style seats, bolted pretty much to the floor? I can remember seeing it - I think at the Doncaster show quite a few years ago & thinking it was really cool but not quite understanding why In the above salt flat pictures above, I love the lighting effect caused the white salty ground & the bright blue sky, the reflected light illuminates the bottom halfs of the cars which are normally left in the shadows.

It does actually look quite accomodating in there! I take it, it had Go-Kart style seats, bolted pretty much to the floor? Spot on. They were ultra-uncomfortable for the first half-hour, then your backside sort of got used to it.
