I presume this desirable dream machine is retro enough to post in here!
In just over 5 weeks I will be selling my Maestro Clubman D Turbo, which has just under 45,000 miles from new. It is British Racing Green with the usual Flint interior.
The previous owner had it from when it was 11 months old until February 2007, at which point the mileage was 41,000. As far as I know he bought it from the dealership and I think it was their demonstrator vehicle.
It went straight through an MOT last May and there is no reason to believe it won't this year, once it has a new exhaust. I intend to get a different car, so won't be keeping this one. I have done 4,000 miles in it since I have had it and it has been fine, except for when the lift pump needed replacing recently, so there's a brand new one on it now!
I was going to keep the engine for a Land Rover transplant, but I have had a change of plan, so I'll offer the whole car here in case anyone wants it as a complete car, before I offer it within Land Rover circles for its engine.
The bodywork is acceptable for an old everyday use car, but for a Maestro enthusiast it would need a few jobs doing to make it look really smart. The offside rear wheel arch is rusty on its leading edge, so the lip has gone (went through last MOT like it with no problems), there is a dent in the roof (not too noticeable), some rust on the door corners and some on the tailgate near the wiper pivot.
The rest is fine. All complete and working, with good tyres. The interior is complete and undamaged, but needs a clean. Just needs a new exhaust as it has recently broken forward of the rear box, but still sounds the same as it did before!
If you are interested please let me know. I need it for now though, so it can't go until the MOT runs out early in May. Tax runs out at the end of May, which will be handy if you want to MOT it again, rather than break it for its engine.
I'm asking £250 for it.
Thanks,
Mike

I would have this but unfortunatley my girlfriend left the taps running in the bathroom last night and caused the sink to flood which spilled over onto the floor causing water to soak through the ceiling and making it sag quite a lot. I had a bloke round this morning to give me a quote on getting it done and it turns out he went to school with my sister and is now married to a girl who's cousin i used to live over the road to before they had to move away after their dad had some problems when he got caught with a woman who used to work for the local council. Anyway its gonna cost about £250 to get it fixed so i guess that rules me out. Sorry.

Ahhh thank you Rev. Dick. I was up until that point feeling a bit left out because no one had told me why they would have bought it, but can't now.
All I need now is someone to say 'Damn it', followed by a distance-based excuse for not buying it, then my life will be complete.

Thanks everyone. My life is now complete! Yes, I was going to use this engine for a Land Rover, but I have had a change of plan. It would be good if someone wanted it to get an MOT on and use. I'll get some photos up soon. You're not missing much though! Mike

Right, here is the beast: Roof dent: Tailgate rusty bit: Rear bumper dent: Offside rear wheel arch rust. It went through the MOT like that last year, but it really needs a new arch to look presentable: Driver's door corner rust: Nearside sill is fine: Offside sill front end is fine: Offside sill rear end is fine, but there is a patch right at the end which is part of an earlier wheel arch repair: Regarding the dent in the roof, I think this is a rare factory option because out of all the Maestros I have seen, not one of them had that particular feature. By the way, apologies for the filth. I didn't have time to clean it before I took the photos.

Right, I've had it murdered. No longer available, except for the engine and gearbox. I'll put up a separate advert for that.
