before i started hanging around on this forum i really wouldnt have had an opinion on mk1 polos.

I agree with the above comments from TonyPepsi&Shirley, they really are the donkeys n0b. so sharp! I love 'em! I bet the'yre a proper little rollerskate too.

thanks, but unpredictable is more the word  . ive more or less got the mk3 tamed but the mk1 is like learning to drive all over again. on the same round about at near the same speed itll either stick to the road, understeer or oversteer. its like it cant make its mind up, lol. but most polos understeer something silly when your giving it some. lower strut brace and hoooge anti roll bar bushes from the mk3 are soon to be added... |

Hi GT Dave - welcome along  We seem to have had an influx of Polo owners of late - good to see that you are campaigning a Mk1, I really fancy building a little MK1 road rocket, especially after seeing some of the Polo/Audi 50 racers on the 'Youngtimers' thread. I can't comment on the Polo's handling but my Derby seems pretty safe if a bit vague in the steering around the centre. But then it doesn't really seem fast enough to upset the grip from the tyres  P.S; Who's is the silver Derby you've parked next to? Looks like those pics were taken at Big Bang |

thanks derby dan, they were indeed taken at bigbang. i hung around for ages to speak to someone but to no avail. ive posted in a few "was it you forums" but no answer. 28k was all that was on its clocks . you havent been to ace cafe before have you? i went a couple of months back and there was a green/silvery (inari green??) derby on what looked like, or very similar to, mk4 polo wheels. very nice if it was! ;D |

Hiya, another Mk1 Polo fan here  I find the handling a little unpredictable too! What's happened to the bumpers in your pics above of Mk1's? The silver Polo LX on early Golf GTI 9 spokes looks cool!  |

Yep, that'll be my car - those are 14" Mk3 Vento/Golf steelies. Damn that was a damp evening! Yes the colour is called Inari Silver despite being more of a green - same as Stu's Polo |

hahaha, yeh, thats the one! i was there that night as well! are you from near by? you should try and get along to no-rice at fleet services. ive taken the bumpers off because I'm gettin it as light as i can. interiors completly stripped and as soon as i can be bothered to atack the old girl with a welder (and possibly a grinder  ) she'll be getting an engine transplant. they only weigh 685kg's from the factory so the goal is below 600kg's and around 130bhp,  lol |

no-rice is all about germanic cars.
it was set up by some vw heads and has just grown in popularity.
maybe a little far for yourself though.
fair play for making it to ace cafe.
are you going to retro cars at the pod or BVF?
i think most of the polo comunity are going BVF but i cant wait for retro cars again
