Decided to make an effort to get the Benz bodywork straight today. Just looking at the headlights, the silver finish has come off the reflectors. Has anyone had any success using regular silver spray-paint?! I know it won't give a perfectly reflective finish but I'm sure it deflects light better than the rust / weird greeny paint combo I have at present! ;D

Hmmmm, good suggestions! I was looking at that chrome spray paint - that'd probably do the trick. I was just worried that it might get a bit too hot for the paint as I've changed the 0.00025 Watt, Victorian-era bulbs for proper halogen ones (you can actually see where you're going!) I seem to remember that chrome tape stuff but I can't for the life of me remember where from! You can get that silver leaf stuff from DIY shops but I think it's actual silver and might be a bit pricey for what I want it for!!

I was thinking that! It sounds daft but I can't see why it wouldn't work, as long as wrinkles were kept to a minimum (but it wouldn't matter too much if they weren't).

won't matter about wrinkles as it's the lens that directs the light on most cars... only the latest cars have plain glass and specially shaped reflectors. as long as your lens has lines on it and is not plain glass, then just worry about directing light in that vague direction if it helps, i think steak and kidney pies come in a plain silver container from your local chippy. cut a hole for the bulb and viola! instant reflector.
