not often you'll hear that, but.... yesterday i noticed a wheelclamp on a car up the road. bit odd, i thought, as there's no parking restrictions round here. as i left for work i notice 3 more on my street and a couple more as i drove towards work... all wearing a large "UNTAXED VEHICLE" notice. now i'm all against them persecuting motorists doing 75 on the motorway in the dead of night etc, but this is spot on - i tax my car, i'm £190 a year worse off, why shouldn't everyone else? i just looked out the window now to see one of them being lifted by a contractor in a recovery truck... two of the others have been taxed and the clamps removed, and the fiesta round the coner is now on bricks with no interior or external fittings - i guess the parts were worth more than the car

Good job ;D My Mini is a sunny weekend car but it`s still taxed, MoT`d and insured for all 12 months, so I get really p*ssed off by the excuses given for untaxed / MoT`d cars

This is only a good thing...although there is a flip side.. when my bug was on the road ( tax exempt car incidently ) my tax disc had fallen off the windscreen and onto the floor ( blasted cheap tax disc holders ! ). An accident, i hadn't noticed as i was in a hurry and it was raining. I came back to my car to find three policemen, two patrol cars swarming all over my car ( including looking underneath it ) Apparently they were about to radio through to get it " impounded " ....subject to release fee..... £XXXX ?? Not good, all they had to do was look inside and you could see it on the floor , all this trouble for a car which is exempt anyway.....a lesson learnt...i now keep my tax disk on the window with GAFFER TAPE.......the last time i go pulled over, the policeman didn't like that either......you can't win !! ;D

Nice to see that the coppers are actually doing some good for a change, I hate to see these w*nkers who think the rules don't apply to them getting away with it. Having said that, I've had hassle from over-zealous coppers as well. Because of my dodgy ankle, which gives me a lot of grief with internal bleeding etc, I have a one of those disabled badges which I use to park in disabled spaces etc when I'm driving but I'm not up to walking very far so the disabled spaces near the building would be handy etc. But anyway, one time I had parked the Imp in a space where you could only sit for 30 minutes unless you had a disabled badge displayed in the windscreen. So I put the badge on the dashtop, where it was clearly visible, and went off do go about my business. Then when I came out, just over 30 minutes later incidentally, a copper had ticketed me for parking there for too long, even though there was clearly a valid badge in the window. Ah, but this copper had decided that I had displayed the badge on the wrong side of the car, not on the side parked on the pavement, and as such he couldn't be expected to see it and could ticket me. It's a bloody Imp, it's not that wide, how could you not see it from the bloody pavement you tit!!?? After a huge argument in which quite a few nasty things were said to the warden, he finally conceeded that the badge was visible after all and I got off with it, but it just shows how money grubbing and devious these people are doesn't it?

a mate of mines a traffic warden!! he doesnt give out many (if any) parking tickets but untaxed cars are his pet hate, he was telling me about the day they towed a 1 year old merc!!!! to the crushers after the owner never claimed it, he had quite the grin on his face when he was confronted by the irate owner who didnt believe theyd crush such a new car.

Once upon a time I bought a car. It was off a bloke who lived in the middle of no-where. I drove said car to the NEAREST post office after the ££££ exchanged hands, gripping my V5 slip, MOT and insurance certificate. Was in the Post Office 4 minutes. Came out to find a cocklicker traffic warden writing me out a ticket. Even furious waving of the new tax disc wasn't enough. Next thing I knew I got a letter saying they were gonna fine me £400 for no road tax (for 25 minutes of ownership. C*nts. I appealed and got it reduced down to £30 in the end. Still totally SUCKED ASS though. You'd have thought the twatting jobsworth could have given a TINY bit of discretion. I f*ckin' hate traffic wardens....

WTF? Did you live down a one way street or something? no normal 2 way road but aparently if a car is facing the wrong way its not displying its red reflector and is classed as a dangerously parked vehicle

So , in theory, you could just hang a red reflector on the front ofyour car and it would be fine

it is in the highway code regarding parking the correct way around on a road.... however you must need to seriously annoy a traffic warden or policeman to be fined for it! what's the rules regarding parking lights, when do those need to be used? most cars don't even have them now! only time you see them is when a vauxhall owner has forgotten to cancel his indicator before leaving the car

Someone said to me a while back that you only need them on if your car is parked on a road with higher than a 30mph speed limit, but that's probably curse word.
