THE SAINT Volvo P1800 Street / Drag Car

Hi Guy's, a friend told me of this site the other day and said I should list my ride. I've scanned through the gallery ans it's ace. Top cars! Top Site!. I have been building a P1800 Volvo for drag racing, but it will be street legal. The class I aim to enter is the street eliminator. This class has current street cars getting into the severn second bracket in the quater mile. The engine is a big block ford with alli heads and stuff inside that would make you drewl. I've spent a pritty penny too. I have three other engines and two more P1800's with log books from 61 to 68 years. The next one I will be building will have a Big Block Ford 500 cubic inch supercharged methanol engine. But I'm in a dilema whether to use the galebanks twin turbo's I have. The gearbox in the Volvo that is posted has a spec built Jw racing power glide, which was dyno'd in the states at 1600hp all day long. Any way I've been working on her today shortening the ally prop. Depends what you want to do with the turbos. You couldn't run nitrous and turbos together in the street eliminator last time I read the rules.

True, but I could always take off the Noz.. But it would be evil if you could. Have you ever entered The Street Eliminator class. Only you only get the class rules with mebership. P.s. chopped coil springs is illegal. And will fail an M.O.T. and make the handling of your car dangerous at speed....

wicked motor! i think you should have a run against him as been as he`s building a volvo aswell. you might meet in the street eliminator class. you could always borrow my astra estate. diesal. turbo intercooler if yours isnt quick enough!!! ;D

Its not an MOT fail if done properly my last car went through with cut springs fine. The volvo is no more, somebody ran into the back of me and wrote it off.

I've never entered the SE, would love to but at 20 and a skint student can't afford the money to enter a race meeting never mind build a car lol. Can't remember who told me you can't run more than 1 power adder, think it was John Sleath or Ian Hook.

As you said would definetley be fun if you could, some of the turbo and nitroused cars in the states are running incredible times.

No, not personally. Go see him, he may help you with some parts of your projects. Ie. the strengthening for your convertible idea. If you don't ask you don't get.

I'm gonna pop down next time I'm at home. Theres loads of NASCAR pickups there didnt realise his unit was there though.
