Well the hand is slowing me a bit, it bloody hurts when I forget it's still not quite repaired I got these back yup - 8inches of your finest steel and the standard hubcaps still fit I'm on the lookout for a standard cap with diameter of 9" if anyone knows where I can get a new set. The emblem are bolt ons so easily swappable ;D I also tidied up the bay a bit and stripped the carbs and rebuilt 'em A football tournament and friends over from the fatherland mean nothing over the weekend, but mojo well up there after the recent RRG08! ;D ;D ;D More soon........ Ohh wide steels. Nice. Loving the amount of work you're putting into this!
Also... those headers. Are they a custom part or an off the shelf job?

OB - have done the 'odd' thing - but mainly one step forwards - 2 back The cut - broken foot and then knee damage have hindered access. BUT Gearbox in, clutch all OK, prop fitted. Diff filled. Brake pipes done and exhaust fitted after a lot of swearing and throwing of teddies After bolting the exhaust up and aligning it, I discovered the starter won't go on as the header is too close.... so all off again and now all together. Battery tray gone for future plans and batt in boot now. Carbs will be re-fitted this weeekend and I'll try n get her started after a long wait. Still a load of welding to do as I keep finding more BEST NEWS: These arrived in Holland. Mine in 10 days or so ;D I'll have to start taking photo's.... I get my head into it and keep forgetting. Will make up later. John

Thanks for the vote of confidence fellas - I've recently managed to slice or dice something on my person every time I've ventured into the g-rage so slowed up a little as things heal AAAnnnnnyyyway - been slotting in bits of metal, mostly boring and once into it I keep forgetting photo's Only got a couple of shonky phone jobbies - apologies. Rear corner around light cluster came out well Other Inner boot floor, lower half of wing and arch all fubar'd. Getting through it - taking my time and trying not to screw up and as a break (gas ran out) I swapped all the front end bearings and hubs/discs after the new ones eventually showed up in the post ;D Found a sh*t load more holes and work needed - so a bit peeved at the moment. Still - haven't hit an artery yet Will do a 'proper' update end of the week as I've brownie points to give me a run at it ;D Cheers for looking in and un-warranted mojo boosting. This place keeps me sane (kinda ) I swear! John W Oops - almost forgot - The missus' Spitfire has had a new handbrake cable and all the brakes done in the gaps. Carpets are a mess (home made bodge job from prev owner) and I spotted newspaper peeping at me from the inner sill so guess what's next This will probably turn into a garage blog type xbllx copy thing I reckon

Well I just tried to sort out a kind of update....... but my foto-(f)ukwit is playin silly beggars. I'll sort out somewhere else and get a couple of pics loaded. Quick synopsis - nothing too much to see really, but basically the bottom 3-5inches of the car have been replaced almost all the way around - but the welding is improving (stop laughing OB ) OB saw the last of the previous garages attempts at 'repairs' leaving one wing 15-20mm out of alignment I am plodding on, so will sort out pics asap.Hopefully final wheelarch will be finished and seam sealer/schutz etc... will be done by end of week (now it's in writing I'm doomed ). Patience y'all John
