well this is my very 1st car ;D A 1992 Mk1 face lift Nissan Micra 1.2 AUTO!! For the pricely sum of £100.
I bought it in June '07 and it looked like this:
(All of them pics were taken at the original owners house)
Mint condition except for the odd patch of rust, also needed a bit of tidying up
Once I got it home I started to source parts to convert it to a manual! ;D
It needed:
Pedal box - with a clutch pedal
clutch cable
manual box
flywheel
clutch
gearlinkaged
Whilst I was waiting for bids to end and parts to arrive I cracked on with refurbish the wheels on it.
On the parts front I was able to buy a complete engine with 5 speed short ratio gearbox and driveshafts - That lot came to £70 ;D
Then I got a pedal box from a scrap yard (£10)
A clutch cable and gear linkages from ebay (£25)
And a clutch kit from ebay (£18, £10 was postage! )
Parts started to pile up ;D
New engine to go in...
Now Ive got everything to convert let the stripping to begin!!
Maooossivveee auto box! the auto box and engine are about the same size
The obligatary stand in the engine bay pics
Me
Me and Jimmy my slave ;D
After taking the engine out I started to clean the engine bay ready for the new block till I found this.......
Time to crack the welder out Well jimmy's, I think my arc welder would just leave a mess so I borrowed his mig welder ;D
Gearbox cleaned and ready to be painted. I also did the engine block but didnt take any pictures
unfortunatly I havnt got any pics of me and jimmy installing the manual engine and block but lets say it was a blasted fool to do ;D But I do have some with it in
After doing the manual conversion I started to concentrate on the looks and performance of the beast
I picked up a set of alloys for £80 which are the style I want but they're ok for track days I then painted my bonnet black as it was getting tatty around the edges from putting the bonnet on and off the car. I also modded my grill for a bit more of a euro look
Bonnet and grill
Bonnet and grill 2
Bonnet and grill 3
Wheels
August 07[/u]
Since I havnt passed my driving test yet its been sat on the drive for a while like that untill I got a bit of free piping
After making that I thought weight is baddd ;D
September 07[/u]
After removing interior trim I took all the sound deadening material from the front of the car! which left my floor a mess
So I thought lets paint it! ;D Because its gonna be on the floor I'm gonna add sand to the paint to make it grippy If it turns out to be a mess then I'm gonna take it off and repaint it with just paint
(filling holes )
I know its a very very very long post but this is for my own record for me to look back on so I wanted it be to very detailed
Things to come:
New Wheels
Bike carbs
Full exhaust system
Tints
race interior
lowering springs and shocks
new arb's
strut braces
And maybe a roll cage! ;D
