They can be very expensive due to their iconic nature....you'll save a bit by avoiding Bel-Airs, 2-doors and Nomads. Personally, I'd save loads of money and choose something less obvious, like a similar year Fairlane or other US equivalent. Ford ^ Buick ^ Pontiac ^ Even on these, you'll save money by going for more doors!

Hi Guys
The first Galaxie was announced halfway through '59 as a range-topping Fairlane 500 (it has much thicker rear pillars).
Fords are cheaper to buy (generally) than Ch*vs and parts supply is as good. It's subjective I know, but I think they look loads better.
Pontiacs are also pretty good - GTOs are v. dear, but a mate of mine has just bought a beautiful '66 Starchief in met green, green tints and white roof for less than people are paying for ratty Cossie Sapphires.

the 57's are very nice but don't expect to pay any less than £10,000 for a good one same goes for the 55 . 56's can be cheaper but not by much my personal choice is the 55 though

Don't forget the '57 / '58 Plymouths (Christine shape) - they look deeply cool I'd love a '58 Plymouth estate (in red with while roof & silver side stripe of course!) ;D

Not the first time some of you will have seen this, but this has to be one of the most beautiful '57s ever:

Anything after the 55' I think looks too brash and wayout - the proportions on the 55 just seem to work better too. My mate's dads blown Bel-Air Although these more iconic cars are generally expensive to buy initially - the cost of parts is pretty reasonable & virtually everything is available. They are tough & simple old barges anyway so reliability of a good one shouldn't be a problem
