Rev, I'm looking for someone that has done an Alfa or Lancia or Fiat engine transplant on something suitably retro,.. whats this guy done in the past?? I'm not sure if he's ever transplanted into anything Italian before, his speciality is air cooled VWs, as far as I know all his previous transplants have been Beetles, Splitty and Bay Window campers, having said that he restored a Fintail Merc and a Rover P5B ages ago but I think he sold them to a guy in Glasgow, and I think he said he tried his hand at a VW type three once. He offered to do my Imp up with a 2 litre twin spark for me once, but it'd be a major project and it's my daily driver, I like the character of Imp engines anyway, plus I know how to fix them! He does all this stuff himself in a couple of tiny lockups incidentally, but his fabrication and electrical skill's better than the sort of thing I'd expect from a real proffessional. The problem with contacting him to see where any of his previous projects are is that at the moment I think he's in Australia somewhere, I don't see him often, apparently he spends months at a time in Australia (or California some years), so I don't see him often, and to tell you the truth I've got no idea how you could get in touch with him otherwise, because I've never actually heard his full name!!! (anyone involved with old cars round here knows Davie, but they only know him as Davie, I even asked his girlfriend when I met her once, but she hadn't been going with him for long, and even she didn't seen to know! ) but when I see him I'll ask him where all his previous projects ended up and if he knows of any going spare or near you I'll let you know!
