Picked this up last night. Under 60K miles and service history too. MOT till November. A few minor niggles to sort out but this will be my new daily to replace my Previa once that's MOT'd and sold on. It won't be getting hit with the stick but may end up with some nice alloys. It came with a set of alloys in the boot but I'm not sure about them. I'll post more pics when I can, these are from the eBay listing.

Good purchase! I was watching this on ebay, looked good and solid. What alloys came with it? Haven't had a close look yet. Classic how not to buy a car, bought sight unseen on eBay, paid full price up front on paypal, collected in the dark whilst raining! Still, she seemed to go OK on the 130+ mile run down the M1. A few niggles as I said but nothing major. The alloys were described to me as 'Like ATS classics', I dropped them off at the lock-up last night so you'll have to wait for photos. I'll post some pics of the car later in the week/weekend. I'll have a quick trawl in the 'net for similar wheels to give you an idea. The alloys will probably be up for sale at some point as they're not to my taste.

Having looked at ATS classics I don't think they are TBH. They're a 5 spoke design but IIRC the spokes are convex as opposed to concave, anyway you'll have to wait for some pics.

good buy, you'll soon ask yourself, why you never had one before ;D The wheels look probably like this, if they are a factory extra :
|
|
- 1971 VW 1600 TL Fastback - 1978 Passat GLS Variant - 1980 Audi 100 5E - 1981 VW aircooled panel van (sold) - 1983 VW Jetta Mk.I - 1984 VW Polo Coupé - 1984 VW Passat hatchback - 1987 VW Passat Variant - 1987 VW Passat hatchback - 1988 VW T25

you'll soon ask yourself, why you never had one before No I won't, I saw it on the 'Bay and asked myself, "Why don't you get another one of those, remember how good your old one was?" The wheels look probably like this, if they are a factory extra : Nope, I wish they were. They look like an after-market wheel, 5 spokes, convex and 'square' shape to the spokes. Vaguely like the ATS classics but convex instead of concave. I'll put some pics up at the weekend if I get time. The roof-rack howls when you're on the motorway! I'll leave it on for now as I'm doing some shifting over the weekend, then I'll probably take it off and give the wood some care before storing it in the lock-up.

Right then, had to pop to the lock-up tonight so grabbed a quick snap of the wheels, no name on them but they are 6"x13". Need a good clean up.

They look like an ATS copy. I reckon they'd suit the car.

Great cars these, and the wheels could do with a spruce up, maybe some immaginative paint scheme.

Those original VAG wheels in the photo..... I think I have a set of them lying about somewhere. They'll need tarting up but I'm willing to sell. Interested?

Nice and clean. I bet the longitudinal mounting makes working on the engine a piece of curse word too!
