As usual, not mine but taken from VOLKSZONE" Stolen from Highgate in london yesterday evening 06/11/06 its a mango green and seagull grey (white to most of us) 11 window rhd devonette with 31000 miles on the clock!! red n green checked curtains..but no interior door panels ..just in case you spot it.. stock height on white wall tyres with a stockish motor reg was 201 WAR and today is the owners birthday not the kind of birthday treat any of us would relish.. splits are big money as we know, but value aside the majority of owners love them in a way which makes losing them a very big deal indeed.. contact details if you spot it are pretty straightforward 07816119507 -john " Pics will be added if the original poster adds them over on Volkszone.

I saw a 23 window Samba on a transporter on the M1 on Wednesday. Probably on the transporter because it had done the usual Type 2 trick, but in any case I think I'll start writing registration numbers down from now on, just in case I inadvertently spot a stolen one.

Think the best solution if you own a veedub is to fit it with a tracker!

Not looked in here for a while.
You'd think the FIRST thing someone would do, having a VW worth at least £10,000, would be to pay a couple of hundred pounds worth of Tracker to protect it? Exactly what I'm going to do when I have a car worth more that a couple of grand on the road.
I know its all very well in retrospect, but the barstewards keep stealing stuff, so shouldnt we all be doing everything possible to stop/catch them?

I'm not too sure how it was ID'd, but the original interior from the bus was found at the back of the workshop.

That was good work - I've just given my friend who had his VW golf stolen from Streatham the tip off about that, I see mrbeetle1 has a couple of golfs for sale - what a garish green they resprayed that van, that was hardly much of an effort at disguising it. A partial respray in what would seem to me (not being a vw owner) a very non-original looking colour, it sticks out like a sore thumb. 2/10 for effort on that one to the ringer! (perhaps my maroon anglia is now a light shade of pink come to think of it there was pink one on ebay couple of months back!)

Just makes my blood boil....my Rangey's right under my bedroom window and I have a very attentive dog ;D. Anyone attempting to steal it would find out that I won't call the police but there's a very nice baseball bat behind the front door which I would have no hesitation in using What's even more heartbreaking in this case is that these guys were on the VW scene, trading as specialists...fcuking scumbags.

I suppose it's all about reasonable doubt (to quote 'Quincey').... So they get a £100 wrap on the wrist for handling, carry on.
