had this baby for about 8 years and finally getting round to restoring her,bike raced in the early eighties and won quite a few races,ridden by andy(will find out his second name)frame rechromed with new decals,forks are next to be done,big list of parts to find,redline cranks/hutch pedals/kashimax seat.have got tuffneck bar clamp/proneck chairing/hutch seat donut clamp...more pics will follow as it goes on.........

that reminds me of when i was about 10 all the older kids were sending their frames off to be chromed, i thought it was the coolest thing in the world at the time.

looks like theyve done a nice job on it.

Also do you think you could tell me who did the chrome plating for you & roughly how much it cost? Looking at getting a new Burner done in chrome & would need F+F & handle bars doing.

Back in 1983 i used to race for Raleigh USA when i lived in canada and i wasn't hoofing aound on my Kuwahara Lazerlite or my brothers barely used Diamond Back Harry Leary Turbo. I raced here in the uk until about 85. I know carlo griggs and used to ride his ramp here in west sussex just before he got his deal with skyway. In 1997 i found out that shiners in bristol still had loads of old unsold stock, so i got a wish list together and set about building one of my favourites but never owned bikes, an SE Racing PK Ripper. It had SE bars, Tuff Neck stem, redline 401 crank, Skyways, Uni seat and was a ball burnished frame with chrome Landing Gear forks, brakes were period perfect Dia-Compe 1000s and the pedals were Hutch. I was almost too scared to ride it incase i dropped it or slipped a pedal, but took it to King Of Concrete at Southsea on a rare outing and had loads of great comments about it, especially as it was all period perfect and complete. I wished i had Skyway Graphites on it but was content with how i had built it, even down to the Rad Kaps and Tioga Comp ST tyres. Hutch riders in the UK were very rare and special, the only one i can remember was John Vile, but he rode a factory cherry red Hutch Pro-star in about 1985, the usa riders were aewsome too, especially Steve Veltmman who had the company that made the dice RAD KAPS during 83 onwards

I know it sounds like total BS, but I have seen NOS Hutch grips and frame pads sell for over $600 on feebay!

hutch frame was done through a freinds work and is about 8.5/10 .ive since had bars and forks and seat post done at a place in brum 9.5/10 stunning £60, but he wasnt keen on doing a frame .
ill ask again.
