i just got back and boy am i brown
have to say i'm very impressed by the show for many reasons - my faith in veedub shows has taken a bit of a hit over the past year or two for various reasons and i'd fallen out of the 'scene' a bit. i'm now a fully fledged addict again and my rethink my decision not to bother with bugjam!
santa pod has been spruced up a bit, a lot of the gravel (great in the sun; turns to a bog as soon as it smells drizzle) has been tarmac'ed over. the toilets are far cleaner than they used to be and it just all seems better organised. i was going to complain that the security accidentally sent me into Family Camping instead of VZi where i had a sticker for but actually it was really nice in there, well chilled and no planks on motorbikes at 3am we even got stopped by a security grunt trying to move a 4x4 through a line of people - this massive tattoo'ed bloke with a skinhead just came out with "ever so sorry, could you just wait there one moment please, sorry to be a pain, sorry" - two years ago he'd have spat at you and kicked you in the back of the head
the racing was fantastic, always good to see some vw wheelstand action - a few gearboxes went home in a binbag though! don't know what class they were but the big proper pro cars were very entertaining. and some very tidy vw pro cars - i do like sportsman but it can be a bit dull, i know 'it's consistency not overall speed' but i like to see something powerful that makes me go "jesus my ears hurt"
guz - sorry i didn't see you, mr rainking described you and your ride and i went looking but missed you - i hear you forgot the stickers anyway, muppet i'll drop over to your gaff and pick a few up sometime if that's ok
rainking 'n' bugbabe.... lovely to see you, need to get your address for the wedding invite but can wait till retro cars show. saw you in the vip stand monday lunchtime, did the sambasaurous break out?
hotwire - took quite a few photos, some of which aren't bad, do you want them submitting for the gallery or do i need to upload them to my own site and you'll copy them or what? i'm just downloading them off the camera now.
off to have a bath and rub something into my sunburn
