Once in a while I go and visit my Uncle and his family on their farm in a sleepy village in the Lincolnshire fens. Any PPC readers may remember I got a Mk2 Escort RS2000 from there a few years back. Well, there's more... My last visit was a few weeks ago now, so I thought I'd take my camera along to get some shots of the various gems floating around the barns/outhouses on their land. Here's just a few photos... An old Scimitar: One absolutely spotless MG. There's about 10 other cars in the darkness: My cousins immaculate TVR. It's done 25,000 miles: Mk2 Escort (1300 with RS2000 front end). In front of that is a Jensen 541R: Two Mk1 Minis. In front of those are two more. Worth a fair bit I expect...: There's plenty more about. Think: more Jensens, another TVR, MGs, more Scimitars and other cars I'm not familiar with at all. It's a great place to visit

Fantasic! That 2-dr Escort has got to be worth £2.7bn in todays money. I want that Scimitar! It'd be a massive project, even if it is GRP, but still, it would make one awesome car. Any plans to do anything with any of them?

WoW!! If that was my uncle's I would either never leave or badger the hell out of him to give me cool cars!! Does he have plans to restore them or sell them or anything?

Yeah the Scimitar is pretty cool. It's a coupe rather than the usual hatchback, and apparently it's worth a fair bit. Fibreglass too, so the shell isn't rusted to oblivion - just everything else! It would be great to rebuilt it all and leave all the moss on it and drive it around. It takes decades to get moss to that standard! There's actually a Scimitar garage in my local town (Kettering). I should take them a photo or something, could be a car they're interested in! Personally I have no intentions of buying anything else at the mo. Not really in a position to be starting any projects anyway. However, some of them are 'available' - although they're not actively selling anything

Qwerty, they've been built up there for decades literally. My Uncle and cousin have been restoring cars for years and years. As well as all the knackered ones they have plenty that are absolutely immaculate.
Unfortuntely lack of time is the main issue, so many of them have been sat around for ages. My cousin has a Jensen Intercepter that has been dry stored since 1983. It's awesome, and I want it. I'd never have the chance to buy anything else really though!

Is the Reliant a Sabre? Garage the other side of town to me owns all the rights to Scimitars and are the world's leading experts on them. I know you wantd to know that. I'd love that Escort or the early Minis btw.

Ah, the scimmie. Body that will be around for future archaeologists to ponder, and a chassis that puts the titanic to shame. This one sat under a tree for 8 years after failing an MoT for rotten outriggers ;

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Lift the Scimitars body carefully off the crubling chassis. Gently drop it over a new custom built chassis with RB26 power.......
