the blue one is what I used to run before it come off the road, 205/60/13 on a 7 ET19. used to catch when I had people in the car, not lowered. but the arches were completely standard too. the red one is the new wheel, 175/50/15 on a 7.5 and ET37, BUT with a 52" atlas so that would take it to ET-13. the arches will be rolled and flared out as much as possible (using one of them fangled arch rolling tools.) what are my chances of them fitting? i'll be spacing the fronts out by about 30mm too. the only thing that makes me not want to do it is, if I keep the standard back axle, it means my wheels will tuck LOADS, i'll be running ET37.......surely thats scope to get some new dishes, 2" bigger, which will mean that they will stick out the same distance but with 2" more dish?

then the problem comes as.......
bigger dishes = bigger tyres
stock axle = strong as warm butter
stock axle + bigger tyres = disaster.
strong axle + 2" poke + smaller tyres = nothing breaking + desired arch/wheel relationship

How much are you expecting from your Zetec? 180bhpish? I thought an English could take up to around 250bhp? (I know that it's torque that kills axles ) *n

depends how you drive it. i did this to it with my 62hp 1300: twice ;D i'd want about that sort of power out of it, and spending 500 quid + on an axle seems silly when the only difference with it being between that and mine is that its 2" shorter a side. you can pick up a 52 for pence, gives me poke and is strong. the pro's outwiegh the cons in my head.
