I'm not a big fan of the modern ones but I do like the old stuff. Anyway, I nipped into Halfords in Bolton earlier with my son. Nearby, where Burnden Park used to be, is a Porsche dealer. All very posh, car park full of aspirational 08 plate VW Passat drivers, usual story. However, in this case, there was an old 924 and a 944 and various other oldies. It looked like some sort of owners club gathering (a bit like cars & coffee only in Bolton with fewer cars) so we dived into the car park for a shufty. Now the Primera is looking a bit worse for wear at the moment. It's filthy and has a few primer patches on it. I think this may be why the salesman who was chatting to some chinless wonder about a Cayenne looked at me with a look that was a mixture of fear and hatred. Anyway, we had a quick look around the cars whilst receiving lots of suspicious looks, took a few pics on my phone, and left. Much to the relief of the salesman who never took his eyes off me for a second. Aren't tatty old cars great?

i love old porkas, new ones do nothing for me.
i once pulled into a VW garage to turn round, i was driving my mini with rusty door, rusty front etc and there was a group of salefolk gathering at the door, they didnt take their eye off me until id got out of their car park.
it annoys me cos who say I'm not an excentric millionaire who happens to drive a knackered mini?

Some mucho lovely cars there.
I love stories like that.Back when I was 18 and bought my Impreza,I went into a dealers to have a shufty at what they had before I went private. They didn' believe me at all, were rude, arrogant and just generally unhelpful.
So,2 weeks later, when I had my lovely shiny 3year old scooby doo.I drove up there, asked for the sales guy and me and my mate basically gave him a dressing down about not judging a book by its cover infront of his boss. And left with rather large smiles on our faces!Just goes to show...

heres my old girl circa 96/97....one of those, should of kept cars I remember That car! You must have had a nice 60's Beetle too, Before the 914... I am sure you came into Karmann Konnection when I worked there... Come to think of it, That fella had a "Big Perm" too!! I work on old Porsches as my day job.. anything pre 73... Have a look if you like www.prs356.com I think I have done some work on that silver car when it belonged to a bloke called Steve, He also had a Turqoise speedster and an Orange '73 911 Carrera RS. He had them all transported down from Yorkshire to Essex so we could work on them! I'm pretty sure he sold the silver car afterwards... but they were all Very Nice!

Ive just had a quick look, the pictures are on the Blog Page for Febuary, It still looks pretty much the same save for the wheels, it has Raders on it now. We have gutted the interior, My Freind Kev bare metaled the inside and underside Ready for paint and Lee is building the Engine. My Boss Paul did want it ready for the Pre 73 Day at Hedingham Castle but we have so much work on its just not possible. Shame 'cos I rekon None of them would get it!!

I wonder if thays the 959 we nearly stuffed into the back of round Brands Hatch in 1989 during the 25th aniverary parade for the 911. A 1965 911 doesn't handle as well as a 959 ;D, the poor old 1965 sits locked up and unused next to the AFN press car for the launch of the 964 Carrera II. I don't think either have seen the light of day for the last six years.

Hope you had a good day at my workplace ! Here's my stuff from the day... There was some nice stuff there but I always feel that Porsches are wasted on Porsche owners. Some owners are a tad odd to say the least ! but as a customer base they are not bad to deal with as a lot of them are self made and down to earth peeps.
