Oi! Bad example, the Capri, as there were 4x4 Capris manufactured by Ferguson for retail sale. The one below is a forest rally Weslake 4x4 Mk1, made by Ferguson, fortified for rally under the eyes of Tony Rolt himself, and imported by Ferguson's NY Agency.

Car bodies on 4x4 chassis are one of my pet hates. Dunno why, I just don't like them. And I have no pics... so hopefully that means none of them exist. ;D

Relax. Cars plonked on a 4x4 aren't any more stupid than this: If chavitudinosity of one kind is OK, so is chavitudinosity of any other! Thus sprach Zarathrusta.... or whatever...

Why the hate? Don't these prove that you don't need some great heavy box of unaerodynamicness* just 'cos you want to go off-road? Fair enough the examples where a car body is stuck on about a foot above the original chassis are a bit marginal, but examples like the Fergason Capri, P5 and Volvo (and some of the yank stuff, possibly even the Spitfire) look very well integrated. * Word Of The Day

I read this wrong too - was expecting all those jacked up rover abominations the Scenics that were plastic adorned etc.... and now all those 'cross' things. I'm really screwed on this one, tmost scream no - then I think the P5 could be dropped just a tad and decent wheels would have it scraping a pass
