Agreed. Truly Epic. Touch that fence out of the Conti shot and turn up the contrast, and you'd have something awesomes. Why are they referred to as flatheads?

child born out of wedlock! I spy the remains of a 57 Chevy!! 55 Chevy a few pics further down too? $300 cars when I was in high school, Spidy. Nobody gave a crepe about the tri-Chevys for a good 2 decades. I guess this old man didn't either. But he wasn't alone in that.

what a shame i see a 56 chev on top of the 54 Ford( also flattie powered),a '57 at least 4 '55 ,and that mustang Convert is a resto proposition today. Lots of the smaller parts are prime ebay items like horns, bumper brackets etc etc .And what about the Lincolns diff or it's engine,if it's still there it's a MEL ,highly desirable in certain circles ( I think they are an overated boat anchor myself). TB is right,in the 70's the tri 5 chev was a nothing car, common and cheap but by the 80's plenty of wannabes thought differently. All those flatties are rebuildable, but again a highly overrated thing which cost far more to rebuild than they are really worth. I could rebuild one in my teens for around $150 ,today the same work will cost $5000. And nice to see an Aussie so far from home...i always wonder how they get to the UK. VG valiant with VIP vinyl roof etc built in Adelaide ,South Australia.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

I see some WD flatties there, probsbly very little wear inside as long as not too much water has got it. The 'give away' is the governor mounted on the front of the generator.

Looks similar to Woolhouses scrap yard in Barnsley. He had some (what once were) lovely cars in but they were all too curse word to do anything with.

they still own it, and stuff is still for sale.
The flatheads are £200 each, he tried to sell all 24 for £1200 at one point too i think.
He has one on ebay right now listed as sidevalve V8, if anyone wants his number emial him through ebay.
I was going to get one but there super expensive to rebuild and alot cheaper to buy as a runner!
Why spend £2500 on a rebuild when £1500 will get a runner.

Ah didn't realise it was Woolhouses. I'd steer clear the guy is a curse word of the highest order.
