How do you get masses of negative camber like the Bosozoku guys do? I've seen it on Beetles too.... Is it just a case of whacking max camber on a stock suspension set-up? I can't see that manufacturers would give the option to use that much camber - is there some customising of the suspension geometry needed?

Bug wheels tilt when you slam them...Just depends on the suspension, both the initial design and geometry.

If you've got struts at the front, elongate the mounting holes in the strut towers. Doing the rear is not so easy. If you've got a solid rear axle, it won't happen of course.

the aircooled vw's suspension naturally gives negative camber (if its a swing axle style) when lowered. You will see this on early bugs and bus's particularly.
It would need to be dialled in for other vehicles, if memory serves me right this was covered in a 'how to' in custom car last month (maybe the month before) It wasnt solely on negative camber, but suspension specifics were covered in quite some detail.

If you have too much negative camber, especially with wide wheels, you’ll have a tiny tyre footprint => sh1te handling and ridiculous tyre wear. See barried-up Sierras with their semi-trailing arm rear setup for further info.

Know what you mean....both of my Sierras have loads of negative camber at the rear with only a 40mm drop!
Anyone know how to rectify it?

Cheers guys. The Merc has eccentric bolts on the lower wishbones at the front, but even at maximum adjustment there's no way it'd kick the wheels out that far. Not even looked at the back yet but I think with it being semi-trailing arms there isn't gonna be any change in the camber when I lower it. Good call about the front struts Wagoneer... I'll remember that for future ref!!

Imps tend to have camber as well, although they do that as standard, it's not a case of them having camber added later. Some unmodified MkI Imps I've seen have amazing camber at the front when they're stationery. Probably something to do with having swing axles at the front. I think later models were slightly modified to get rid of some of it.

Thats dead weird, i was thinking about how to run oodles of negative camber just yeasterday, so had a look into it and found these on ebay for the escy: adjustable track control arms ;D ;D ;D bidded for them and won!!! Well chuffed! Negative camber ahoy! The rear wont be so easy but i reckon its possible by re-drilling the pivot points have to have a look. Yours looked like it could be adjustable via the eccentric bolts when we were last under it, but like wagoneer was saying it might be possile to move the mounting holes?
