Mercedes W126 420 SEL Camshaft and followers.

I need a good camshaft and set of followers from a W126 420 SEL Merc. Need the drivers side bank.

I've got a couple of sets of camshafts *somewhere* in the garage. May have followers but I'm not that sure.
I can get part numbers if you like, because I'm not 100% sure which Merc V8 they are off!

I'll clarify - they are off an M117 V8. It's just that different models have different profiles.

I take it the oilways have clogged causing a few cam lobes to look like 50p pieces? ;D

I have a noise which I thought was a tappet, but the front two cam lobes look worse for wear. I want to do the job cheap if I can, funds are tight and I'm spending on the Fiat 130 (see readers rides)

It's a common problem on these engines - the plastic ends on the oil sprayer tubes break down, and also the tubes themselves clog up, starving the camshaft of lubrication.

I've dug out the camshafts, they were closer to hand than I thought thanks to an avalanche in the garage that uncovered the boxes! ;D

I've got a pair of camshafts which are numbered P52 and T53 on the back end of the shafts.

I also have one camshaft which is stamped Y01. I can't remember which side this is from... I have the other one but that's goosed.

Can't recall which engines they're from but one of them is definitely from a 450.

If you want to do some research into part numbers etc, or need me to have a closer look at the ones I have, just ask, I'm happy to help.

If any of them do turn out to be any good to you, my prices are very reasonable too - I know Merc breakers often want a lot of money for parts like this as they know they are in demand.
