hows it going gang Just bought this last week off the Bay. Its class in a glass, I am loving it. Only glitch is, I think the clutch is getting tired. It doesnt slip, but will do with only a very slight pedal pressure, and its tricky to get 1st gear from a standstill. Normally I would just start taking bits off till I had uncovered the problem, but my workshop is full of rusty Subaru 1800. So, I am contemplateing doing a driveway clutch change, which means i'd have to tackle the job on my own in one day from start to finsish. Is this a straightforward job? Anyone done one? Is the gearbox some sort of ex-railway design which needs 3 people to lift? Any tips gratefully recieved. L8Rz!

Fairly straightforward job really. The box might be a bit heavy if its got overdrive but its liftable on your own. The gearlever is a bit of a pig to get out untill you find the grub screw hidden at the bottom. I reckon you'll do it in a day easy.

Any more for any more? Just scored a new clutch off the bay for £45. ANyone know if the clutch is held on with those star-head bolts or other such horrors?
Gearbox is a 5-speed manual so no overdrive.
Driven this car about 400 miles now, I love it!

I can only talk from experience of the 760 i just broke but that never had a torx head bolt on it anywhere. Pressure plate was held on with 13mm's.

Mr B, if you ask over on the rwd Volvo forum, they'll be able to advise of any pitfalls etc. Well worth joining as it has a heavy 200 series tech bias
