and 24-40k to satin black your shiny new supercar is a hole in virtually anyones wallet..

but I agree with tigran on the whole it not about the money, it's ballsy because it's entirely different and wholly against the grain to 99.9% of supercar owners,,

i didnt say top quality paint job, but it would be easy to find a local paint shop thatd do it for 2k, i don't know about variations in prices depending on where u are in the uk but it would be possible round here

When you matt/satin black a super car do you still go down the local motor factor/hardware shop and buy 10 cans of the cheapest cans you can find or do you pay some really expensive and poncy bodyshop to spray it for £4000?

Either way matt/satin black super cars rock, it says I've got money and I don't care if i've ruined the residuals LOL! ;D

Satin can just change a car so much. Saw one of mine and they had laquered it, completely ruined how hard it looked.

Satin super cars are for the real car lovers i recon as if you just wanted to fit in it would be red darling. ;D

Satin/matt paint actually required more prep work than a glass finish, as any defects show up a lot easier on a flat (not shiny) surface.

If you were painted a supercar, it would cost at least 5k for any decent shop to strip, prep, paint and fit the car.

You could, of course, get it done cheaper, but a lot of corners would be cut. It would be a good 6-footer, but no more.

Straight from an Aston Martin source:

For a new Aston Martin (smaller models in unused/new condition) to have a strip down and repaint, it was based around a stonking £30,000... plus the dreaded!!

Labour was around £120 per hour and they were allowed 8hrs per panel! And if it had the tiniest belmish, it had to be done again until it was right!

oh and if i had a rolls phantom, id order it from the factory naked steel with clearcoat. or not and let it oxidize. that'll really show people I'm not in it for the resale.
