OK - I have searched this site until my eyes started bleeding, but cannot find any reference to the TrueType font used in the club logo??
I want to produce a few stickers (in keeping with the club guidelines obviously) but cannot find the exact font.
The nearest I have is Compacta....which is pretty close....but unless the club is using a different version to mine then it isn't the actual font....
If someone could please put me out of my misery I would really appreciate it. (if you fancy sending me the font via email, please let me know?)
Many thanks,
MM

The closest i've got is hattensweiler (sp) However, in 2D design its still not exactly the same. I have traced the logo bmp so if you want to use that you can find links to the vector files i drew in the thread on the general board.

Thanks Mark,
I have your logo design (downloaded it yesterday - thanks) but just wanted to get the font itself so that I can do a couple of other things with it (minimise the noding etc....to make it cut smoother)
I'll have a play with hatten.....(didn't think to use that one) and see if it is any closer than the Compacta font.
Regards,
MM

By nodding do you mean the way the job cuts in a random order from one line to another, jumping about different parts of the drawing?
What you need to do is make layer 1 active and visible, but make layer 2 the current layer, then set the contour tool to 0mm and Graphical path. Then contour each part of the drawing in turn (I'd work from one end of the url to the other, doing each letter, then the outline. The large rr and star could be done befor or after.
When you have contoured the letters and outlines in the order you want them to cut, just delete layer one and you'll have a nice plotter/cutter friendly drawing. Oh and before contouring, change the colour so that you can see where you have been.
I forgot to do this to the drawing before i saved it, I usually only etch the fills, rather than the vector round the outside so it makes no difference using the laser, I only realised when i tried to cut some stickers later. I'll host my sticker files that are already cleaned up later in the other thread.

Hi Mark, The nodes are the reference points that you see when you click the 'start edit' function when an object is selected. I wanted to try and reduce the amount/volume of nodes down from the thousands currently on the logo to just a handful (minimal nodes) which will make the vinyl cutter work a lot more smoothly and efficiently. It's just a little OCD habit of mine! Regarding the jumping about - I used to do the same thing as you.....contour each part on a zero (0mm) path but I never bothered with the layers, I just selected the line to be red (original path black) and then contoured the design in the order I wanted the cutter to work in. By grouping the orignal path (the black) you just have to double click any line on the drawing and delete - you now have a clean path in the order you want. The reason I wanted to get the actual font is it is a lot quicker to start from this than trace around existing vectors. Obviously this can't be avoided sometimes but I'm sure you know how much quicker a job is if you have the font to hand. I'm making a range of different designs (an AA one, long url one and the RR one too) hence why I was looking for the font.....the AA one for example still has .com, not .org on the url. I bet we could discuss this software all night and both learn a lot from each other! As I have found out over the 12+ years I've been using it, there are many different ways to acheive the same goal and no particular way is the right way. Everyone works out what suits them best and the software is flexible/intuitive enough to allow you to do this....
