I love this car, it's badass!
And no, it's an X20XEV, one of the stupid variable-length inlet manifold jobs. It's utter curse word. No black smoke out of the back, no awesome turbo spooling up noise, no torque!
But it does have..... air conditioning! Going from 65mpg to 26mpg is a small price to pay!

holy shitsticks theres a hole! meeh, duck tape over the other side and fill the coont with tigerseal ;D.. Or thats how my car turned out . Were you saying that there were multiple skins to it? The proper way would be to cut the outside skins on a bigger rectangle so you can weld them one by one, starting with the one furthest away, but hmmm not sure ... loving the camber bigtime though ;D

That rust looks difficult to sort. Might be best pulling the wing off to get a bit more access?

thanks guys, if I get the ABS loom out the way I think it wont be too bad to sort. The wing isnt really causing any access issues, more the inner wing! MOT runs out tomorrow though and still have to hope it doesnt fail on anything major when I fix this rust. Hmmmmm. Gotta have lunch, help bro and then its car welding time. I hope. BTW matt...... just remembered you run an estate, so forget what I said about cally rear dampers and carlton estates use different shocks to the saloons. Much shorter I think.

Yeah I noticed that lol. Think the cally springs are still shorter though. Got a set of 4 springs and a pair of rear shocks for £6.50 so can sell them on if not needed. Thinking of going for custom springs now, though will probably just get a set to chop for RR09.

yeah the springs are still pretty short! only compatible at the back though, don't know if I made that clear. 6.50 is a bloody bargain though! good effort.

Yeah just gonna use the rears. Still stuck for front struts though, they're a bit of a pain in the to do cheaply. Matt

well, welded up both wheelarch inners and a patch on the sill today, put the wing back on, arch liners back on, after I seam sealered and undersealed them of coruse! One side was a nightmare but got there in the end!
No pics as my welding was for the most part shocking. Improved a lot towards the end though..... showing I need to practice more!
Tomorrow morning its re-thread the loom, put the headlights back in, arch liner, bumper, glovebox and head to the MOT station for 3.30
Likely candidates for failure:
-Headlamp aim -slight buckle in wheel -increased steering lock mods -tyres
I *THINK* they are ok, but in a 'hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm' sort of way. Got emergency back up plans for the wheel/tyre issue, headlamp aim they can do I hope, steering lock.... well worst comes to worst Ill have to weld the lock stops back on! LOL
Fingers crossed! I'm knackered!
