Bah, thought Id have a go at fitting some S13 coilovers as I know Dez had made some work on his old senator. So S13 coily in hand..... hmmm looks a bit short...... lets try it on the jack to see how we do... (Mad camber is due to wheel not going on all the way due to jack holding the arm up) Now while your sat there thinking.... "that looks freakin badical!1" etc, thats the wishbones travel maxed out and the springs only just started to compress! Spoke to Dez and he put me right on the mods he made to make his work, sadly mine probably arent mod-able so going to jog them on Oh well, onwards...... And yes I know Ive kippered my wheel

right...... Ive been saying for AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaages that Ive needed to remake my exhaust so it didnt scrape on everything sooooo.... lots of cutting welding and reshaping later..... Did have before pictures but my memory card screwed up. Basically I think Ive gained between 1.5" to 2" of ground clearance at the front! So redid the back as best I could and got rid of all the clamps..... couldnt reshape it much as most of the joints had rusted together! So to celebrate my new gorund clearance I put my low rear springs in...... Before After As you can see it still needs to come down an inch or so at the front, but its pretty much on the bump stops need shorter dampers if anyone knows of any that fit a senator / carlton / omega. Clearance Clarence LOADS of room up front (ignore the leaks!) oh yeah, and picked up a set of 17x10 and 17x8.5 Azevs too Need to pick up some suitable tyres (may go slightly larger profile at the back to remove some of the rake for now) and then its arch fettling time

What rear springs are they then Col? Hopefully I should have the family wagon dropped soon, i'm thinking that maybe stock s13 struts might work for lowering my boss is getting me a pair to try.

Stealthstylz..... Cally -60mm with Cally T adjustable konis.... they arent REALLY stiff enough TBH, and don't forget the back of mine is stripped! also to get s13 struts to fit youll need to do some (alot) of work with the top mounts, and the strut-hub mounting really needs swapping with the senator one which is a lot of chopping and rewelding. I'm going to experiment with some astra Mk4 front dampers and see how / if they fit. Want to use some of those adjustable camber top plates though, as with the space in the tower Ive got room for some mega camber and caster! Hairnet.... errr thanks Leigh... Id love to say it was easy, but TBH it was a PITA due to issues with snapped studs in the exhaust manifold and also the fact that I had to do it up fully each time to make sure I was going in the right direction! there are about 12 to 15 cuts and re-welds under that heatwrap! Plus I rounded out the thread on the lambda etc etc etc jack.... come and say hi man, Ill be on VODC.... whatcha gonna bring this year? Keefy.... she seems to love the abuse, although all the oil leaks get worse everytime I look. Traced some of it back to rocker cover though so no excuse not to fix that! Gave her a good trip today (sorry no pics) round the M25 to deliver my engine crane to a mate. Loads of traffic, sun beating down.... I was cooking but the engine sat at 85.... that ally rad is bloody awesome! didnt even need to reach for the fan switch! Also.... the massive slam on the rear has made the rear super planted.... I think its the extra toe-in its got! will see how far these adjustable bushed can adjust things but may have to modify the subframe. Right Billing show to do list..... 1. MOT! 2. Pass MOT! LOL then.... 3. drop the front some more somehow someway. 4. fit CB! 5. fit lightened flywheel 6. replace gearbox 7. fit rear subframe bushes so they arent living under my bed 8. fit roof numbers and do some more detail to the star 9. strip the interior properly and tidy the jolly pain in the backside up! 10. fit 10j 11. fit welded diff LOTS TO DO!

heh nice Jack.... let me guess.... 2.0 DTI? BTW if you want and DI bits from an S-plate astra for a small fee just shout. Spare cylinder head for porting? Right-o...... MOT prep.... Right the rear bumper has been looking pretty ghetto for a while now Was getting more and more wonky, so I dug out my spare. Old and new spot the difference LOL Hmmmm rear valance starting to look a tad frilly, but no mot worry. Will have to sort that when I have more time Done Right, bit of a general checkover next, secured some trim in the cabin, replaced a bulb, tightened up the headlight mounting point. General stuff. Then I spy..... in the passenger footwell. Hmmmm, I remembered that a common spot for these to go is in the front inner arch, and I knew mine was a 'bit bubbly' on the seam but didnt think it was that bad. Lets have a look.... Oh thats not too bad (I thought!) Lets whip the arch liner out and have a dig about....... Oooooooooooooooooooh FUDGE Right next to where the ABS wiring loom comes through the bulkhead too.... and with LOADS of wires running down the back Thankfully a lot seemed to be leftover Police wiring, so removed them! LOTS! Hmmm thats gonna take me a lil' while to sort so cancelled the MOT (was booked in for today) and parked her up. Camber Any advice on the welding gratefully received.... its a PITA as its about 3 different sheets joining, all rusted back, the wiring loom (theres no metal around 40% of the bung anymore, a rain drain and its in a REALLY tight location (the other side of it you see there) may start a thread in the main section actually.....
