Hey peeps, just a quick question, doing some odds and sods to get the saab ready for RRG '08. So the question i need answered is - where can i find satin brown paint - is the easiest way to get flattening agent in a shade of 2k?
Anyone seen rattle cans in satin/matt brown?
Thanks for any input. Love you long time.

Also, roughly, how many litres of paint are usually needed for a two coat blowover?

Any paint supplier can sort you any hue in satin and I would shoot about three litres on a saab.

Anchor army surplus in Nottingham and a few others (search the forum for nato or army paint as its been linkled up before) do the proper stuff, sand, brown, olive, etc. and cheap as you like. £35+VAT for 5 litres rings a bell

That sounds more like military gun paint to be honest as an enamel will i presume be a gloss finish? I will txt someone and get back to you if he knows.

Seriously it's faster to just buy some cheap foam rollers from b&q or even pound land with a tray and roller it on. Nato green works great with a roller. I used the small 4" long foam rollers and we were done in couple of hours, can even do edges with brush then roll really close to edge, this looses any brush marks

Go for something with big slabs of area and angular lines it will work really well, maybe even contrast with a fluro paint job on rim's and certain touches

i'm quite tempted by the early audi 80 in the for sale! same as my mk2 passat wagon but saloon! big, boxy, no curves and go super low! nato green with with black and orange wheels is stuck in my head

Does the finish come up OK with a roller? What kind of prep do you have to do to it? I guess for smaller detail areas or inner panels you could just brush it on? Any weather protection with this stuff? Questions, questions (Sorry!)
