Hey peeps, in the immortal words of one Mr Maverick - I feel the need...the need for speed.
My AC pump on the 9000 jammed up yonks ago, taking the aux belt with it, so I just replaced the belt with a non-ac item. Now the ac is sitting all back o the bus n sh1t. I would like to know - is there any connection it has with the engine, does it take any fluids from the engine, do those pipes going out of the pump/the little air con rad go to anything connected to anything important?
Basically can I strip the 100 kg's of curse word out of the very very front of my allready understeery saab. Reckon it would do wonders all round if I could.
Fankew.

The only problems you might have will be down the electrics. If you've got climate control you might have trouble with getting the heater to work properly but its not very often it'll cause problems with the engine. That normally only happens on very modern stuff when you have a can bus conecting the air con to the engine managment.

From what ive made out with my a/c as kong as you hve the ACC pack (I think yours was also) you can take it out fine. The last of the Anniversarys had something to do with the engine management so not so easy. However if you want it to stop understeering you apparantly just change over the rear anti roll bar bushes to powerflex type ones. It supposadly can make the car much more neutral/tail happy. Not that ive looked into this much you understand

Ah but that costs money, which having just paid for work on my 900 t16, my benz and my p5 all at once i have none of. My idea is totally free however. After i get the power up i will look at the handling properly (i know that's a barry kinda thing to say but meh), probably with a full anti roll bar upgrade front and back, abbott do a fetching set.
But yeah cheers for that guys, i shall get the air con stuff out today when it stops bloody raining.

Have a look at SASAB stuff (google it). Cheaper than Abbott even with shipping duty etc.
