I'm going to look at an Audi 80 16v on Saturday.
It was pitched at me as a donor car for my Scirocco, being the sought after 9A 16v lump. It's been laid up for 4 years plus, so it's got no T or T but it's got a genuine 42k on it with history to prove.
I've spoken to the guy selling it and he says it's too good to break, starts and drives well etc etc, and he wants £300 for it.
Do you think this is a bit steep considering what I need it for? Tarting it up and selling on isn't an option as the Rocco's drained my funds for the time being, and SWMBO has agreed to the purchase on the condition that it's gone inside a fortnight.
My thinking was this. Presuming the engine's good, it's worth £200 all day sold on Edition, and not counting any other parts I could sell, the shell without engine should fetch a ton?
Any thoughts?
