Here's the Century Supreme Oils 1976 Princess 2200, which was customised in 1979. Despite the huge bonnet bulge, it has the standard 2200 six-cylinder engine installed. Yup, it was all show and no go. Anyone know what happened to it? Kev.

I used to love my Princess. It was like driving a huge feather bed mounted on bouncy springs with castors on the ends.

Apparently the gearboxes off these will go on a rover V8, and some crazy mad fool has put a transversely mounted RV8 in the front of a Mini using one. Which is quite impressive if only for being different!

On a similar note, I vaguely remember seeing a 'customised' Allegro in a magazine when I was about six, (1979). It was owned by none other than Dave Lee Travis.

I remember Dave Lee Travis once had an Allegro which he customised for use in London by hanging old tyres around the bodywork as protection from other cars. Could this be what you are thinking of? (it appeared in a couple og magazines at the time)

Here's my 'rally ready' princess in the Sahara I really liked that car, did 10,000 miles of pretty much trouble free motoring, and 400 bloody awfuls ones to the finish with no suspension..... £50 well spent. N.

There's one in a fairly standard looking black mini clubman in australia. RV8 needed an adaptor plat made up so it would fit on the princess box IIRC Edit: I found the website www.geocities.com/jharkola/Viku2.html

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

N. Sweet, thats a superb pic. Got more?.. you should do a thread about it, unless you already have and I missed it?

That's just brilliant!!! There was a Princess with a transverse 6-pot down the scrapyard a while back. I was looking for the calipers but perhaps I should have been more interested in the gearbox!

N. Hello mate! Bout time you made it on here, not seen that pic before, so I second the need for a write-up thread
