It occurred to me that I hadn't seen anything on the Belvedere Plymouth for a while so I went off and found this: www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2008/06/a_rusty_classic_in_trusty_hand.htmlAs the crud comes off it actually doesn't look as bad as you might expect. For those who don't know/remember. In 1957 the good people of Tulsa put a brand new 1957 Plymouth Belevdere in a concrete underground vault to mark the town's 50th anniversary. The plan being to unearth in 2007 for the town's Centennial celebrations where some lucky individual would win a (hopefully) immaculate time warp car. Unfortunately, the vault leaked a bit and it was a bit tatty. www.tulsaworld.com/webextra/content/2007/buriedcarunearthed/default.aspx

Should have been left as it was, IMHO...
Restored, it's just another '57 Plymouth...
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

Kind of a repost, didn't know they were gonna do anything with it. Didin't the rear suspension collapse from being rusted out during it's time underground?

Meh, just back half it and make it a pro streeter!
But IMO, preserving it as-is is the way to go, a demonstration of the follies of man.
