Just putting out some feelers as now i'm finally back on my feet (sort of) i am getting the ball rolling on getting the T16 ready for some heavy trackday-ing and eventually TTRS series. I know where to get most bits for the car and who to speak to, but one area i am totally stumped on is finding someone who would be able to knock up (i'm guessing there are no pre-made rollcages kicking about) a rollcage that's in compliance with current MSA specs. I'm hoping to have it done some time in late mid october.
BC - what was the story behind your rollcage, because i'm guessing that's a pretty one off item.

Have a chat with either safetly Devices or Rollcentre, pretty sure they do made to order cages. I know SD used to as that's where mine came from

p.s. currently looking at Custom Cages - anyone know of the company/know their work? Great - If you get them to fit it (Because the cages don`t really) but I would go to Rollcentre for a custom one to fit yourself You could do what IRSM has done for his Starlet, buy a Tube bender and cuttoff wheel and make your own works out cheaper but is a lot of work but you get to multilink it fairly easily for greater stiffness HTH Dom

There is a company in Totton near Southampton (brokenford lane) I think, I was having some welding done next door and they had just finshed a full roll cage on a mk2 golf and the result was nothing short of amazing. cage through dash and mounted to strut tops etc. I am struggling to get a comany name though?

If you could figure out a name it would be awesome, if not i'll just take a drive down there and find em. The main part is having an fia/msa approved cage.

I've a mate, qualified cage builder for Prodrive who can make one for you I think, I know for a fact when I get to the stage of wanting a cage, he's who I'm going to. Thoroughly knows his stuff, top man. Saw some on Driftwork's cage the other day and even questioned the quality of tubing used, as a lot of cage builders will potentially use slightly lower quality (but still within MSA and FIA specs of course) tubing to create a higher profit margin. Caused a ker-fuffle it did, most amusing! (it was clubman tube used btw)

Robinson Race Cars (01256 880589) produce some of the best one off cages to MSA, FIA and SFi specification.
Failing that, get yourself a Demon Tweeks catalogue. They have a very comprehensive listing of cages, custom or otherwise.

I'd steer clear of OMP's bolt in efforts.
A friend has one in a track day car and the fit isnt so good compared to other brands.
My 2p worth.

I got a number of quotes for a one off cage for my project - custom cages, hauser race cars, protection and performance, rollcentre, all of whom I have seen good work from. Hauser and custom cages were very expensive. p&p and rollcentre were good. But in the end I went to Fabricage in Cambridge (01223870563) on the recommendadtion of a friend. Very satisfied with their work, and really friendly helpful guys. Here are some pics of what they did for me ;D
