Number 2. is a nissan L-series...either 2.4/2.6 or 2.8 litre OHC. And its on a Z car methinks, judging by the twin Hitachi SU's

I just looked at all those, and realised I couldn't tell you anything about any of them I was thinking that till I saw the top-mount in number 9 - scooby for sure! Other than that I was stumped, but I don't profess to being good at engines. I can just about recognise my M42, a 2JZ an RB26 and thats about it!

I'll go one step further on the flatty and say it's got 24 studs so it's not a V8-60, 1938 and on...

one, flathead v8... offenhauser heads. I see thats aready mentioned above me, but I did come up with these answers and scroll right to the bottom. I aint seen the other guesses yet.. two. Datsun 240z three Dolomite 1850? four Its a pinto! cortina/capri spec, early block (looks like a 1.6) five Omega 2.5 v6 six Zetec E... 1.25 in a fiesta? seven. TATRA!! where else do you get an aircooler V8 ;D Eight. Very familiar looking Austin B series It has the later oil filter arrangment, so I reckon its a 1622, or the 1400 J van unit. Nine Ergh. Big mess of pipes, alt low in the middle and an intercooler? Scooby turbo. Ten Thats a hard one, but the number of cyls and the rocker cover ribbing say V12 Jag to me. So thats my guesses. Now I'll read the rest of the thread, apologies if they are all got already

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Eight. Very familiar looking Austin B series It has the later oil filter arrangment, so I reckon its a 1622, or the 1400 J van unit. I think its an earlier engine with a conversion for the oil filter. Can't think of any 1622's that had a single diddy doundraught carb like that. Don't recognise what its in though. Cable pull starter solenoid steering gear behind the engine and lairy colour. Maybe Nash Metropolitan? I was going to say Cov Climax for three too.

You may well be right seth. Its nearly the same as my 1200, but the external oil pipe to the filter (A series style) is later, mine hasnt got that, or even a casting blank to fit it on. Carb is very similar to the one I evicted too. Where is the man with the answers? lol edit austin booky says A40/A50 cambridge, 55-57 1200 or 1500 had the zenith 30 VIG-10 carb. Thats my new guess
