So... I got this '62 Ford Thunderbird with a 390CI (6.4l) on Saturday I've never driven a car where so many complete randoms in the street are kind enough to compliment the car as I cruise past Some quick pics before it got dark I'll put up some shots of the engine bay when I get a chance to taking some. A car that is 46 years old did come with some problems though: Starter motor hates engaging when hot, Rear lights and brakes lights don't work (sorted) Brake pedal doesn't return properly Might need a choke connecting Illegal numberplates It's quite advanced for its time. It has electric windows all round, electric adjustable seats, power steering, power brakes, air con was an option. All the lazy things you want in a car lol.

NICE! Landau model too. You gotta post up pics of the swingaway steering wheel, coolest feature on those!
Starter is probably a bad solenoid (Assuming ground/earth is good), it's on the inner fender.. US passenger side if memory serves. Should take 2-3 minutes to change.
Not 100% on the PS and Power brakes (They were options on squarebirds, not sure about bullets) but the power locks, windows and seat were optional, ditto air con and cruise control. You have a pretty highly optioned one there!
I had a 65 Landau with every option.. am/fm, Cruise, air, power locks windows, seat, etc... awesome car!

Thanks guys
The starter issue is down to it's mechanics. As the solenoid throws out the drive gear it should spin up as it latches in to the flywheel, but instead it's spinning up too early and isn't engaging. So all it makes is a spinning noise. Only does it when hot though.
